BLAST CLEANING AND FINISHING At Guyson we offer blast cleaning and finishing solutions for a vast range of surface treatment applications. We can help you to select the most appropriate system for your particular needs - whether a basic manual blast cabinet or a customised machine, for use by an operator or automated - and the right blast media to achieve the results you wish. Please see below for a selection of typical blast applications.

CLEAN Clean away surface deposits, residues and other dry contaminants quickly and completely. Using dryblast techniques pioneered by Guyson, even complicated shapes and sensitive materials can be efficiently cleaned without substrate erosion or dimensional change. Automatic systems for non-destructive blast cleaning of moulds and dies are a Guyson speciality. Whether used in a regular maintenance procedure, as part of a reconditioning operation, or as a step in manufacturing, a Guyson blast cleaning system can help you eliminate laborious hand work, chemical cleaning and environmental liabilities. DEFLASH Deflash resin-moulded or die-cast components rapidly and thoroughly. Brittle flash can be removed cleanly from intricate components with or without altering adjacent surfaces. This can be done by precise selective impact treatment, or at the same time as an overall cosmetic finish is produced. Guyson’s advanced media reclamation systems eliminate clogging and dust problems associated with inadequate deflashing equipment. DEBURR Deburr machined components without damage to critical surfaces. Blast treatment can speedily remove lightly attached burrs from complex parts and many less accessible areas by precision impact to eliminate labourintensive hand deburring. Non-abrasive deburring media leave even fragile materials untouched. Alternatively, Guyson can combine efficient deburring with controlled surface modification, if required. DESCALE Descale metal components to improve appearance or to prepare for subsequent operations. Quickly remove heat-treat scale, surface discoloration, oxides, rust, weld scale or corrosion that ruins good looks and interferes with painting, plating, coating, drawing and other processes. We can often help you prepare those surfaces for subsequent operations or produce an improved appearance in addition to fast descaling. A Guyson blast descaling system may represent a viable alternative to chemical descaling methods such as caustic or acid processing.

FREE SAMPLE EVALUATION Send your samples to Guyson today, for a no obligation evaluation.

STRIP Strip paint, lacquer and other coatings with speed and precision. Many coatings may be blast-stripped without damage to sensitive substrates and with no hazardous chemical handling and disposal headaches. If component irregularities are part of the coating problem, we can often strip parts and leave surfaces in improved condition for re-coating. ETCH Etch surfaces to achieve the precise texture required in preparation for painting, bonding, coating, etc. In addition to aesthetically pleasing matte finishes and decorative touches, a variety of specific etched finishes can be easily achieved by varying the blast media and pressure of delivery, producing a repeatable quality of finish time after time. COSMETIC FINISH A quality cosmetic finish can be the competitive edge that makes your product more attractive. Appearances count more than ever today. Guyson can demonstrate alternative finishes in the lab to help you achieve ‘the look’ you're after, then recommend a blast system to meet your production requirements. Guyson uniquely combines expertise in unusual media that create a distinctive surface finish with blast finishing techniques to impart quality with uniform, consistent results. ENGRAVE AND DECORATE GLASS Blasting can be used as an etch to produce logos and insignia on glass, pottery, cutlery and medals, extremely fast in operation – a drinking glass can be etched with a measure insignia in around one second. Distinctive patterns, textures and frostings can be achieved on flat plate glass and art glass by use of varied media types and pressure settings. SHOT PEEN Shot peen critical components to maximize the performance of modern materials. Guyson shot peening systems, utilizing the latest in process controls and drawing on our deep roots in blast automation, enable peening to predictable intensity with consistent, repeatable results to your specifications. You may be evaluating bringing job-shop peening in-house to gain control, work flow flexibility and lower cost. Guyson can help you get it right.

IMPACT BLASTING

Guyson International offers three ranges of manual blast cabinets, providing comprehensive solutions to countless finishing problems. Cabinet variations also include a desktop version which can be equipped with micro nozzle for fine etching, a sit down version (SBP), a variable height version (Select), and a side-loaded two metre square cabinet, often used for industrial mould cleaning.

Blast cleaning uses the enormous force generated by the impact of millions of dry angular or spherical particles in an air powered, high energy stream directed at the component through single gun or multi-gun nozzles incorporated in a manual blast cabinet or automated blast system.

The ranges comprise the Formula for light industrial use; the Tiger, designed with ergonomic principles at its heart and the Formula 2000 Euroblast, Guyson’s premier quality industrial strength cabinet. Guyson manual blasting equipment offers a faster alternative to labour intensive operations such as hand deburring, scraping and wire brushing, chemical cleaning, acid etching or dipping, liquid honing, knife trimming, sanding, grinding and many others. It is ideal for component producers, reconditioners and remanufacturers seeking to replace these slower and more labour intensive methods. Guyson blast finishing uses compressed air to propel blast media directly at the component through an exclusively designed blast gun. These Formula 1200 with Pencil clean and safe operations are housed in an Blaster illuminated cabinet from which dust is constantly removed and the blast media recycled to provide a continuous and reliable cleaning and finishing system. There are two types of Guyson blast installations, both capable of using a wide selection of blast media at alternative pressures ... pressures low enough to blast delicate parts and high enough to handle the most demanding cleaning and finishing operations.

TUMBLEBLAST® Guyson’s T40 and T50 Tumbleblast® and EB1 Endless Belt systems offer cost effective blast finishing for batch processing. Ideal for cleaning, deburring, deflashing, cosmetic finishing or surface treatment of small metal components such as screws, bolts, nuts, washers, circlips, fasteners etc.

®

With Guyson MULTIBLAST automated blast cleaning systems, component surfaces are treated by the impact of media (angular or spherical particles) fired through adjustable air operated blast guns precisely positioned in a sealed chamber. The components are presented to the guns on a purpose built table which can be fitted with special features and dedicated component holding facilities.

• Fast cycle times • Repeatable process quality • Safe and easy to operate

A suction or pressure feed media delivery system, media separator and dust extraction system make up a complete free standing installation which is specified to match each application.

REPEATABLE QUALITY AND INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY Guyson offers the single spindle (RSB) as a first step on the automation ladder. Rotating components in front of fixed or moving blast guns gives a consistent quality of surface finish coupled with high productivity, which cannot be achieved in manual blast systems. The Guyson RSB machine delivers consistent, cost effective finishing results adding value to your components. The component sits on a rotating central spindle (though can be static that suits the component) and the blast gun arrangement traverses vertically and sometimes horizontally around the component to produce the precise coverage required. The automated blast cycle, generally controlled by a PLC provides flexible process control of all the machine variables to achieve the required finish.
