Established in 1994, Mark Cundall Earthmoving (MCE) is a Darwin based company which has grown from a one-man excavator operation to become a leading Northern Territory civil contracting, earthmoving, plant hire & transport business.
MCE offers a complete range of civil contracting services with one of the Northern Territory’s largest fleets of machinery for all job types. Our plant includes excavators ranging in size from 5.5 to 85 tonnes, bobcats, rollers, graders, backhoes, loaders, water carts, dump trucks, tippers and prime movers as well as extensive range of specialist equipment.
MCE owns and operates one of the most extensive fleets of vehicles and specialist plant and equipment. Over the last 20 years MCE has maintained an enviable reputation for capability, reliability, integrity and customer service.
Our success and growth is credited to consistently providing innovative civil construction, earthmoving, plant hire and transport solutions and a commitment to continuous improvement and best practice in everything we do.
We are proud to have worked on some of the NT’s largest projects for many satisfied clients, including providing earthworks, plant & labour hire at the $34 billion INPEX liquid natural gas plant, establishing the Johnston & Zuccoli subdivisions and supply of plant and labour for construction of the East Arm Marine Supply Base in the port of Darwin.
We specialise in providing high-quality plant and equipment and skilled personnel for the building and civil construction industry throughout the Northern Territory.

MCE holds an outstanding reputation for providing excellent wet and dry plant hire solutions. At MCE we take pride in our fleet. All our plant, equipment and vehicles adhere to a strict service, maintenance and cleaning schedule, thus ensuring our clients are hiring top quality machinery and equipment along with experienced and knowledgeable operators. Our transport division at MCE is renowned for being both reliable and efficient. We have the capacity to carry machinery up to 50T anywhere in the Territory. We offer a materials and construction waste haulage service which is carried out by our prime movers and side tippers, the majority of which are less than 3 years old. All transport services are carried out by experienced and highly competent drivers. In short we use only the most durable machinery in order to deliver a prompt and superior service backed by total reliability across all our services. 5

MCE prides itself on its quality of work and its attention to detail. This has enabled us to develop long-standing relationships with a wide range of clients and stakeholders. At MCE we strive to maintain a high rate of Indigenous participation. We engage local indigenous employment service such as Aboriginal Employment Strategy Ltd to source talented and experienced indigenous workers and as well as inexperienced Indigenous workers to give them the opportunity to gain the necessary skills to work in this industry. At its peak in 2015, MCE had an Indigenous participation rate in excess of 20% of our total workforce. We are committed to maintaining such levels of Indigenous employment now and into the future. At MCE we take pride in our self-delivery of projects. We engage our own personnel, plant, machinery & equipment on our jobs wherever possible. We understand the seasonal challenges which working in the territory presents and we utilise the wealth

of knowledge and experience of operating in the Territory to systematically overcome the challenges with efficiency. Safety is a key priority for MCE in everything we do. We ensure all our workers are highly competent in their areas of work by providing regular training both in-house and externally. This has enabled us to maintain an extremely low rate of incidents. Our extremely low rate of LTIs is a credit to the reliability of our safety system. It allows us to utilise our workforce to the fullest at all times which in turn enables us to provide efficient civil construction and plant hire solutions. Our quality system processes ensure the most effective service and maintenance of all our plant and machinery allowing MCE to have one the most reliable fleets in the Territory.
ON TIME, ON BUDGET At MCE we understand each and every client’s need for timely service delivery and the adverse effect that unscheduled delays can have on the financial viability of projects. We work closely with our clients to establish clear and realistic timeframes and to ensure their objectives are met. We help our clients to minimize project turnaround time by drawing on our vast local knowledge and experience.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY As a proud Northern Territory based company, MCE is committed to investing in the Territory by using local suppliers and sub-contractors and contributing to the development of a skilled local workforce. MCE supports a wide range of local charities and community groups. These include NT Cancer Council Relay for Life, Lions Club NT, sponsoring a local entrant in the Variety Bash and the Lara Jean Association for medical research into rare genetic disorders. We also regularly provide in kind plant services for track improvements for the Darwin drag racing and speedway associations. 9

We appreciate and value our experienced and dedicated team. Our people are the backbone of the company and without their knowledge and expertise we simply could not continue to grow and be competitive in this industry. Our construction management team are qualified professionals with extensive experience in management and delivery of projects in the NT.
MCE operates a fleet of over 80 units including highpowered mechanical equipment, transportation units and a wide range of attachments for earthworks and civil projects.
MCE has a long-term commitment to the safety and welfare of its workers and their professional development. We maintain a system of equal opportunities and take a proactive approach to assisting our workers through training and education to develop specialised skills, to work productively and safely in the civil and construction industries. MCE carries out professional development reviews (PDRs) and gives appropriate feedback to allow our workers to grow and develop in their roles.

We are constantly investing in new and improved plant and equipment in order to grow our fleet. This allows us to utilise our own plant and machinery for projects and maintain the highest quality control, and also provide wet and dry hire solutions. We pride ourselves on having a wide range of earthmoving equipment including 34 excavators ranging from 5.5 tonnes to 85 tonnes, prime movers, graders and an array of dump trucks, loaders, tippers/side tippers, rollers, water trucks and floats. All our company-owned plant and equipment is serviced by our experienced fitters in our own workshop, ensuring the utmost care is taken when maintaining our plant, machinery and tools. MCE’s fleet of up-to-date, fully serviced vehicles and equipment can be hired on an hourly or projectby-project basis. Every hire project is backed by a comprehensive workplace health and safety plan.
