Carpentersville Police Department Mission Statement The mission of the Carpentersville Police Department is to provide the highest quality police services by working with our community, and sharing our mutual responsibilities for safety, service, and problem resolution.

Traffic Issues – 2nd mobile speed radar sign added Tied to the Village Board’s goal to improve the quality of life.
Expanded both the Police Department’s and Village’s presence on social networks with the use of Carpentersville Public Safety on both Facebook and Twitter. Coordinated the social media activities of the Carpentersville Public Safety and Village.
Facebook 2015: +340,000 “Reaches” and 1,547 “Likes”
Twitter 2015: 152 Followers Tied to the Village Board’s goal of improving and utilizing IT systems that enable staff to operate more efficiently and improving services provided to our community.
Hired and trained a part-time police officer to address staffing issues, in a cost effective manner without compromising on quality and safety issues. Tied to the Village Board’s goal to research ways to improve efficiencies in Public Safety to reduce costs.
Successfully transitioned from Public Safety led Police and Fire Departments to a traditional Police and Fire Departments.
Conducted a tabletop “active shooter” training session with our community partners: Carpentersville Fire Department, QuadCom and School District 300. Coordinated the Police Departments activities with community partners to proactively and reactively address community activities, needs and concerns.

Worked with Kevin Goethals and the Village’s I.T. Department to implement the following programs:
Hired a new Public Safety IT technician
Updated the Police Station video system
Replaced police vehicle video system (in progress)
Conducted survey of technology equipment in police vehicles. Tied to the Village Board’s goal of improving and utilizing IT systems that enable staff to operate more efficiently and improving services provided to our community.
In collaboration with the Village’s I.T. Department, conduct a pilot program to identify the best body camera system to be used by the Police Department. Once the camera system is identified – move onto a two year program to equip the Police Department’s uniform officers and supervisors with that system. Tied to the Village Board’s goal of improving and utilizing IT systems that enable staff to operate more efficiently and improving services provided to our community.
Address the known quality of life issues identified by our residents, while being responsive and open to other quality of life issues that are identified or develop over the year. Tied to the Village Board’s goal to improve the quality of life.
Research and develop a department wide training program to address a new trend in policing today: “Procedural Justice” and “Fair and Impartial Policing”. ◦
Through the use of this type of police officer training and personal development, the police department hopes to foster a greater level of trust with our community and reduce real or perceived conflict.
