The market car park is found immediately beyond. From M5 Junction 24:(travelling South) take the third exit off of the M5 junction and proceed as above. PRIZE MONEY & AWARDS CHAMPION HALTERED CALF Will receive an award in the sum of £300 together with a sash. RESERVE CHAMPION HALTERED CALF Will receive an award in the sum of £150. CHAMPION UNHALTERED CALF Will receive an award in the sum of £50. RESERVE CHAMPION UNHALTERED CALF Will receive an award in the sum of £20. SPECIAL AWARDS Sp 1.

Each 1st prize winner in the haltered section will receive in addition to the prize money a £50 voucher from JG Animal Health.

Sp 2.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt offer £250 if any animal purchased from the sale goes on to win Champion at any of the major shows – English Winter Fair, Welsh Winter Fair, Scottish Winter Fair, South West Winter Fair or the East of England Smithfield Festival.

Sp 3.

Court Farm Butchers Ltd of Puriton offer £250 to the vendor of any calf sold at the show that goes on to win Champion at any of the major shows – English Winter Fair, Welsh Winter Fair, Scottish Winter Fair, South West Winter Fair or the East of England Smithfield Festival.

REMARKS & CONDITIONS 1.

There are no entry fees for haltered and unhaltered calves.

2.

Ear numbers must be provided with all cattle entries along with any breeding details and names of animals.

3.

The same animal may not be entered into both the haltered and unhaltered sections. Any animal entered into the haltered section which proves to be unleadable will be excluded from the show and may not be transferred to the unhaltered section. The steward’s decision will be final as to the safety of an exhibitor.

4.

All exhibitors of haltered cattle must be at least 16 years old. All haltered exhibits must be properly broken to the halter and suitable for show. Any exhibit deemed to be a risk may be removed at the discretion of the stewards. All exhibitors must hold a valid liability insurance for the ownership/rearing of livestock.

5.

All cattle must be pre movement tested within 60 days prior to the show.

6.

All cattle to wear their numbers in the ring during judging.

7.

If there are not a minimum of 3 entries in any cattle class, it is at the steward’s discretion to rearrange to another class.

8.

Each animal may only enter 1 class.

9.

In the unhaltered classes, exhibitors or their stockmen must be in attendance during judging.

10. Unhaltered cattle are to be judged in their pens. 11. All livestock to be offered for sale by auction and in the event of any prize winning stock not being sold, the prize money and rosettes will be forfeited for a sale to be completed the purchaser must pay in full for the exhibit.

12. No exhibitor may be allowed to compete for any prize unless the entry form has been duly signed by the exhibitor or his agent and sent together with the entrance fee to the Secretary at the GTH Market Office, so as to reach him/her by Wednesday 22nd February 2017 13. The prize cards will be awarded in accordance with the judge’s decision. 14. Any exhibitor wilfully breaking any one of the class conditions, or the general remarks shall be barred from competing at any future show. 15. PROTESTS – any protest must be made in writing by an exhibitor and delivered to the Honorary Secretary of the South West Winter Fair (Mr Adam Hayes or Mrs Louise Baker) or to the Secretary of the calf show (Megan Chilcott) within an hour of the class being judged on the day of the Show. 16. All stock intended for exhibition must be in the market not later than 12 noon on the day of show.
