Welcome to the Agape/Hope Publishing Company handbell music offerings for spring, Lent & Easter 2015.

With this new release, I trust that you will find enjoyable material from which to choose for the Lent and Easter season. Along with many hymn-based handbell settings, you will find original compositions by Cynthia Dobrinski, Susan Geschke, and one of our newest composers, Patrick Meyer.

With a dynamic setting of “If Thou But Suffer God to Guide Thee” we welcome Matthew Compton to the Agape catalog. The introduction features bells and piano antiphonally. Handchimes introduce the hymn melody with quiet accompaniment. The second verse has more motion with the hymn melody in octaves. The antiphonal theme returns and leads into “Amazing Grace” with chimes on the melody. After a modulation to C major, the final statement of “Hymn of Promise” returns as a handbell solo and crescendos with piano to a brilliant climax.
