Zumba® Jammer Application We are glad you have such a strong interest in becoming part the ZIN Jam™ program as a Zumba Jammer! Please read this entire application before you begin to put it together. Submitting your application exactly as instructed is very important. An incomplete application or an application that did not follow the instructions will hurt the evaluation of your application. So please read and follow the instructions carefully so that your application can be reviewed in the best light possible! Please note that you have to complete all six parts to this application in order for it to be considered. The deadline to submit your complete Zumba Jammer application is October 12, 2011. How to submit your application: Complete all of Parts I-V. You will need to submit all parts at the same time. Once completed see Part VI for instructions on how to submit your complete application.

Part II: Question In 200 words or less, please describe what character quality or qualities you have that other ZIN™ members respect and appreciate, such that they will truly want to come to your ZIN Jam session. In other words, aside from creating great routines (we assume you are a great choreographer), describe your best CHARACTER traits.

Part III: Acknowledgement Please read the below information. You will asked to sign this acknowledgement (electronically) when submitting your application. If you are selected as a Zumba Jammer candidate, you will be required to do the following to become an official Zumba Jammer: 1. Attend the Zumba Jammer Training that will take place on:  January 21, 2012 in Mexico City, Mexico D.F. If you cannot attend this training, please wait for the next Zumba Jammers call, as you will not qualify to become a Zumba Jammer without attending this training.

2. Obtain and maintain a current adult CPR Certification or equivalent. Although you do not need to possess a CPR certification at present, you will be required to obtain it by the date of the Zumba Jammer Training. You will need to provide a copy of your certification (card) on the day of the training.

3. Obtain and maintain liability insurance. Although you do not need to possess liability insurance at present, you will be required to obtain liability insurance by the training date. You will have to provide a copy of your certificate of liability insurance on the date of the Zumba Jammer Training. (If you are not able to obtain a professional liability insurance policy, you will be required to use a Waiver for each session; waiver to be provided by Zumba Fitness)

4. Remain a ZIN Member in good standing.

5. Comply with all of the policies and procedures provided during ZJ Training.

6. Sign an agreement explaining the Terms & Conditions of your ZJ license.

7. Obtain a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express credit or debit card for requesting ZIN Jam Sessions.

I agree to the above Acknowledgement. As instructed in Part VI, I am submitting pages 1-3 (Parts I-III) of this application form, my three letters of recommendation as described in Part IV, and my audition video as described in Part V.

Note: Your application form (Item 1), recommendation letters (Item 2), and audition video (Item 3) must be submitted at the same time. The guidelines for your audition video, letters of recommendation and detailed instructions on how to submit your Zumba Jammer application (items 1-3) are outlined below (Section IV, V, VI). After evaluating your application, we will inform you if you have been selected as a Zumba Jammer candidate no later than November 18, 2011.

Part IV: Letters of Recommendation You will need to present three (3) letters of recommendation from fellow ZIN Members in your local area who believe you would be a good candidate for the Zumba Jammer role. To request a letter of recommendation, contact three (3) ZIN members who live within a 2-hour driving distance radius from where you live. Explain to them why you are requesting a letter of recommendation and provide them with the details below. Guidelines for ZIN Recommenders:  Letter should be of 350 words or less.  They will have to send the letter directly to you (ZJ Applicant) via email. Each email recommendation must include: 1. Your full name (ZJ Applicant) as it appears on your ZIN profile. 2. Their full name (ZIN Recommender) as it appears on their ZIN profile. 3. Their email address (ZIN Recommender) as it appears on their ZIN profile. So that your ZIN recommenders are prepared, please inform ZIN recommenders we may be contacting them regarding their letter of recommendation via email from email address: [email protected]

Once you have your three (3) letters of recommendation, you will need to submit them as one file in the following formats: .pdf, .tif, .jpg, .doc, .docx Please do not forward your recommendation letters via email. Instructions on how to submit your recommendation letters as part of your application are detailed in Part VI.

Part V: Audition Video In order to determine your Zumba choreography/dance talent, you will need to create and submit an audition video. This is when we will evaluate your skills to determine your candidacy as a Zumba Jammer. So give us your best routine! The video will cover three areas for evaluation: Choreography, breakdown, and testimonial. Your video will be judged based on your dancing skills, choreography originality, routine energy, cueing, ability to explain effectively, speaking skills, attitude, and charisma.

Guidelines: Submit your video in the best quality you can provide. For proper and complete evaluation, make sure that in your video:  

 

you are facing the camera you are the main object in the shot

the setting has good lighting and you can hear the audio clearly

In other words, if we cannot see or hear you clearly in your video, it may hurt your evaluation. Your video must be 20 minutes or less. Your video file size should be no more than 250 MB. Submit your video as one (1) file. The acceptable file formats are: .mpg, .wmv, .mov, .rm 1. Choreography/Dance: First in your video, you will lead two songs in their entirety, as though it were in front of a live class. Cueing skills are extremely important and will be taken into consideration. You must:  Use original choreography created by you.  Use songs from these sources: ZIN Mega Mixes, ZIN Volumes, other Zumba original music (Cardio party, Vibe Tribe, bonus music from ZIN Home, etc).  For your first song, choreograph a Salsa routine.  For your second song, choreograph a routine for one of the following genres: ● Cumbia

● Reggaeton

● Merengue

2. Breakdown: After your choreography segment, you will explain and breakdown one of your routines, as you would to your fellow ZIN members in a ZIN Jam session. You must:  Breakdown only one (1) of the routines for the songs you selected. 3. Testimonial: To get a sense of your personality, the last part of your video will be a short, spoken segment in which you will answer the following: Why do you want to be a Zumba Jammer? (and/or) Why should we select you as a ZJ? Your answer must:  Be 2-minute (or less) in length 

Part VI: Submitting Your Application Your Zumba Jammer application must be submitted no later than October 12, 2011. You will be informed by November 18, 2011 if you are selected. Your application form (Item 1), recommendation letters (Item 2), and audition video (Item 3) must be submitted at the same time. Application checklist: (Items 1-3)  Zumba® Jammer Application form (only Pages 1-3)  Letters of Recommendation (3)  Audition Video (1) Instructions for Submission: Your application will be submitted electronically through the Zumba Jammer Application Submission form. Please follow the instructions carefully. If you make a mistake or select the wrong file to for submission, you will not be able to go back to make changes or resubmit your form. So be sure to select the correct files for uploading. Please name your files as follows to make it easy to identify them: first name, last name - ZJ Application form first name, last name - ZJ Letters of Recommendation first name, last name - ZJ Audition Video Directions for submission form: 1. Click the following link to access the submission form: Submit My ZJ Application 2. On the online form, start by entering your information on the corresponding fields. 3. To upload your files, click on the corresponding choose file button for each item. Choose the files accordingly. (Your files may take some time to upload – the bigger the file the longer it will take to upload) 4. Respond to all questions accordingly. Here is where you will be asked to confirm that you agree to the acknowledgement in PART III. 5. Once you have completed all the fields and all three (3) files have been successfully uploaded, click the submit button. You will then receive a “Thank you” page confirming that your form was submitted successfully. YOU ARE DONE! We wish you the best of luck!
