As October sneaks up on us, Island Lake summer 2010 is beginning to feel like a distant, yet fond memory. The leaves are changing color and autumn is setting in, however many of our thoughts are still centered amongst our ILC friendships and experiences. Yeah, we know that next summer seems too far away, but rest assured our reunion on November 20th will be here before we know it. We’ll provide more information regarding the reunion later in this newsletter. We’d like to once again thank all of our camp families for your overwhelming response to early registration for summer 2011. As you can see from the list of campers who are already registered, camp is filling up very quickly. We also want to give a special welcome to all of our new ILC families who have already enrolled for their first exciting summer of fun. We are looking forward to having you join the ILC family and experiencing all that our camp has to offer - fun, new friendships, fun, exciting activities, fun, new adventures,… oh, and have we mentioned FUN yet? Since camp is filling up so nicely, we will be closing certain age groups in specific sessions very shortly. If you haven’t yet registered for next summer but are planning to do so, please don't toss the registration form aside or place it in the pile of paperwork you never quite get to. You can still take advantage of our Pre-November 1st rates and secure a spot for next summer by signing up now. Don’t forget, all campers who enroll before December 1st will also receive their very own special edition t-shirt, too! We want to hear from you and know what you’re doing, who you’ve seen or spoken with from camp, and all of that fun stuff for our FYI section. Feel free to send us photos from your own camp get-togethers and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs so we can post them in the newsletter, as well. Construction has begun! We are rebuilding 8 tennis courts and our paved volleyball court this off-season. The set of two tennis courts and the six lit ones are going to be totally rebuilt and will be like new come summer, as will the volleyball court. The fences have been taken down and the re-grading is beginning. We are making more space around the two lower tennis courts, as well. When done, we will have thirteen perfect tennis courts on which to hone your skills!

We hope your children are still talking about camp and the fun that they had. We miss the kids and are looking forward to having them back with us at Island Lake again in 2011. Please be aware that there will be a tuition increase on November 1st. Our tuition schedule is as follows:

For those of you who aren’t aware, Group Leader Rusty has begun his 2000 mile run from Boston, MA to Austin, TX to raise money for Young Texans Against Cancer. He is making this run with two friends from overseas. They have been running for about two weeks at the time of this printing and are currently in northern New Jersey. We are very proud of him and Island Lake has been an enthusiastic sponsor of this endeavor from Day 1! You can track his journey at 2000milerun.com. Go Rusty!
