SHOT BLASTING FOR STEEL SURFACES Blastrac® shot blast cleaning systems are the surface preparation industry's most effective and environmentally friendly method of removing paint, coatings and other contaminants from steel surfaces. Blastrac steel shot blasting systems can use a mixture of steel shot and angular grit, allowing the operator to achieve a wide range of anchor profiles needed for almost any job type. Horizontal systems prepare steel surfaces such as storage tank floors and roofs, ship decks, barges and other marine vessels, hatch covers, tank tops, bridge decks, and offshore drilling platforms. Vertical systems, used in conjunction with especially developed rigging systems, special hydraulic winch systems, can prepare the sides of steel storage tanks internal as well external, ship hulls and other vertical steel surfaces.

WORKING PRINCIPLE Blastrac systems incorporate a high performance centrifugal wheel that propels blast media in a controlled pattern and direction at the surface being prepared. Metal abrasive, thrown by the wheel, cleans the steel surface and rebounds along with the removed contaminants, dust and debris into a recovery chamber. The dust and contaminants are moved to a dust collector and the reusable blast media is returned to the storage hopper from recirculation by the blast wheel.

Blastrac 500 VH - EBE Winch Unit The 500 VH winch system is especially developed to be used by shipyards that has graven and floating docks. The advantage of this winch system is; that the operator at the mobile control panel at all times controls the blast machine and the required feed speed during the blasting performances SA 2.5. An optimal and a continuous blast pattern will be achieved at all time. This winch system will avoid that dock cranes are needed during the dust free blast-cleaning operations, contractor’s and shipyards can control their own planning due to this.

BOTTOM BLAST SYSTEM Blastrac 500 UB-EBE - Under Side Blast Cleaning Machine This machine is totally self contained, with an on board diesel engine hydraulic power pack that supplies power for all motors. This system enables the machine to operate and comply with the regulations existing in some countries, which do not allow trailing cables or flexible ducting; the dust collection unit is also on board. The machine can operate under a minimum height of 1.3 meter, and up to a maximum of 2.0 meters between underside of ship and dock bottom floor. The machine is almost 7 meters long, but only 1 meter wide, with rear wheels steering through ninety degrees it is very maneuverable. This is a dedicated machine that can only be used for processing undersides of ships.
