All instruments providing the ability to cloud fly must be removed or disabled, specially including: i. Any type of artificial horizon. ii. Gyro Instruments or other instruments permitting pilots to fly without visual reference to the ground (e.g., Bohli and Schanz compasses, turn and bank indicators). 3. There are no special requirement for high visibility markings 4. Gliders may be required to carry sponsor logos. This will be fixed prior to scrutineering and in the same position on all competing gliders. 5. a. Glider in take off condition, including any loose items such as batteries, thermos, drinks, tie-down equipment, additional clothing, etc b. Weight of the pilot with a parachute. This weight should comply with the “maximum cockpit weight”, which is 60 – 110 kg for Jantar Std gliders. c. Weight of the glider plus cockpit weight (pilot + parachute) should not exceed the maximum take off mass of the glider. d. Reference “main wheel weight” in “towing out” configuration with all removable equipment on board, including parachute and batteries. This reference weigh will be used as the limit for weighing on contest days. Selective weighing a. On some competition days, some of the gliders selectively might be weighed in the same “towing out” configuration with all removable equipment on board at the weighing point on their way to the grid. The main wheel weight determined by the scrutineers will be used as the reference weight. Gliders, which does not comply with their reference weight more than + 3\-3 kg, will be penalized. D. General Flying Procedure 1. Circling in thermals a. Left circling is mandatory before start is open. b. After start is open, circling pattern as per: i. Left within 10 km distance from the airfield (to be explained on briefing) ii. Any direction farther then 10km from the airfield 2. Units of measurement will be metric: a. Altitude in meters (m) b. Distance in meters (m) or kilometers (km) c. Speed in kilometers per hour (km/h) d. Vertical speed in meter per second (m/s) e. Mass in kilograms (kg) f. Temperature in degrees Celsius (ºC) 3. Frequency to be used a. Official frequency for Launch, Start , in flight, arrival, landing and safety frequency: 120.65 MHz. b. In case of safety and any other necessity, pilots can communicate with Voronezh CTR at frequency: 134.5 Mhz. c. Official frequency must be used during all flight. 4. Carriage of tracking units a. Tracking units will be supplied by the organization to selected pilots. Their use is mandatory. Selected pilots will be notified and the tracking units will be supplied by the organization the day before or at briefing before each task. b. A helicopter, drone or fixed wing aircraft may be used as a radio and data link platform and for media coverage. Pilots may request these aircrafts to move away but may not stop them sending and receiving data or taking imagery. E. Gridding 1. Organization of the grid. a. There will be a grid of 2 gliders (front) by 10 gliders (depth), centered on the glider takeoff runway of the airfield. b. Grid order will be announced each day by the organization. c. Ground Crew Team will assist gliders with the launch. Local Procedures SGP Usman 2016

All gliders must launch on aero tow. 2. Release a. There will be 2 release areas depending on runway in use as shown on the next figures: b. Release will be at 700 m over the airfield (860m MSL) in the release area. c. Release signal will be the rocking of the wings of the tow plane. d. Once released, the glider must turn left and upon visual confirmation of release, the tow plane will turn right. 3. Re-launch a. Re-launches will be available if the glider lands at the Usman airfield. b. Re-launch will be conducted as stated in the SGP Rules number 7.2.1 (version 7). G. Finish Procedure 1. The call required is “[call sign] 5km out. Direct landing \ Speed finish”. 2. Finish procedures a. Direct landing must be done according to landing schemas depending on runway in use b. Speed finishers will make left or right pattern depending on the runway in use. Direction of the pattern will be announced on the briefing. c. All finishes must be done in the following way: i. All the way between the reporting point and the finish line should be above 190 m QNH. ii. At least 190 m QNH (to be confirmed at briefing) when crossing the finish line. iii. The altitude used for this calculation (and penalties) will be the lowest altitude indicated by the scoring software between the Mandatory reporting point and the finish line. iv. Penalty for flying below the minimum according to the rules (2016 – 2017 version 7th series SGP). d. Pilots must make long landing.
