This is the user guide for our product line of Voice Recorder. It contains the following four individual Android apps. Each app is tailored for specific needs. • Easy and Smart/Schedule Voice Recorder: if YOU prefer an app which is free but fully functional. • Secure Schedule Voice Recorder: if YOU want the highest security, try this app. It doesn't need Internet connection. • Secret Schedule Voice Recorder: if YOU want the highest secrecy so that only YOU can have access to the recorder app, try this app. It provides password protection and many many more.

• Remote Schedule Voice Recorder: if YOU want to control your audio recordings remotely and thus enjoy the highest flexibility with all the possibilities with a recorder app, try this one. All existing advanced features and future updates or new features will be fully integrated into this app for free. In the following, we refer to our product line of Voice Recorder including the free version and paid version as CinixSoft Recorder. Not all features described below are available in all the four apps. Generally, if a feature needs Internet connection, it will be unavailable in the secure app. For all other three apps, namely the free, secret and ultimate, all features are basically available. However, some features might need to be purchased further using the in-app billing after the fresh install. Please take a look at the advanced features on the setting tab.

2. What is Unique in CinixSoft Recorder? There are many voice recorder apps in the marketplace. If you browse on Google Play, you would find many. So here is the first question: Why should YOU use the CinixSoft Recorder? As our answer from CinixSoft, we would ask YOU some questions first. • Do you know any other app that can allow you to schedule a recording for the meeting tomorrow between 2:00pm and 4:00pm? • Do you know any other app that can allow you to schedule a recording for the lecture which starts next Monday at 10:00am and lasts until the end of the summer term? If the answer to any of the questions above is NO, then YOU should try the CinixSoft Recorder. Furthermore, have you ever thought about any of all these things that YOU can do inside one app? • The recorded audio can be sent to an Email address, be uploaded to a FTP server or Dropbox automatically; • The recorded audio can be deleted automatically if they are old enough so that memory space on YOUR device can be released; • The recorded audio can be sent to CinixSoft to be transcribed for YOU by one single click; Have YOU made your decision? 3. Architecture The CinixSoft Recorder is organized in tabs. If YOU swipe the finger from left to right or vice versa, YOU can switch the tab quite intuitively. 3.1. RECORD TAB

On this tab, YOU can see the current state of the CinixSoft Recorder. (1) If YOU have just installed the app or deactivated any scheduled recordings, nothing is left for the recorder to do. YOU see the hint in this tab together with the remaining recording capacity based on the free memory on YOUR device. (2) If a recording has been scheduled, a timer is counted down and the time

interval to the next recording is shown. (3) If it is being recorded, the recorded time of the current recording is shown. The sound volume is presented in the volume bar. In case (1) and case (2), a new recording can be started immediately by clicking on the play button, if enough time interval is available from now to the next possible scheduled recording. What actually happens is that a recording event from now has been scheduled. The default duration and audio format of such immediate recording can be configured in the SETTING tab discussed below. If the time interval from now to the next scheduled event is shorted than this default duration, it will be shortened correspondingly. The recording events that have already been scheduled always have higher priority. In case (3), the current recording running can be stopped immediately by clicking on the stop button. In fact, the underlying recording event on the schedule plan is deactivated. If a scheduled event has been just deactivated for now and YOU want to start a recording immediately by clicking on the play button, what will be done is just to activate the already existing recording event. So the duration and format come from that scheduled event correspondingly.

3.2. SCHEDULE TAB

On this tab the schedule plan is shown on the calendar. If some recording events have been scheduled for a certain day, a microphone icon is added to that day. By using the left and right double arrows YOU can switch to the previous or next month respectively. The corresponding month view on the calendar will be adjusted. On the calendar, each week started from Sunday and ends with Saturday. As you have seen, the weekend days are marked with a different color from the working days. YOU can go to the day view as shown below by clicking on the day for which YOU want to scheduled some recording events.

On the day view, YOU can create a recording event by tapping it. For each event, YOU can give a title, choose a recording format (3gp, mp4, wav). If this is a repeating event, YOU can configure the repetition frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly). A container box will be shown for each recording event. Depending on the format that you have chosen, different color is used. For each container box, YOU can do the following: • By tapping it, YOU can show the details and edit the event. • If the recording has finished, YOU will have the option to go to the audio file directly. • By long-pressing it, you can drag it up and down so that the underlying

event can be re-scheduled. • If you drag a repeated recording event, YOU will be asked whether this applies only for current recording or the whole recording series. 3.3. QUEUE TAB

On this tab, all the scheduled recording events will be expanded to form a queue. If YOU click on a finished recording, YOU will be led to the audio. 3.4. AUDIO TAB

On this tab, the recorded audio files are listed and ordered after the creation time. The starting time of the recording together with the duration are

shown. If YOU click on an audio file, YOU are led to the interface where different operations can be executed on the current audio file. • Play: Audio playback. Depending on the audio format, the audio playback interface is different. For 3gp and mp4, the playback interface allows for normal actions such as pause and resume. For wav, there are further actions available. ➢ ➢ ➢ ➢

• Comment: YOU can comment on the recorded audio as kind of e.g. reminding for the content. • Rename: Rename the audio to a different name • Copy: By default, the audio files are located in a private place to which other apps on YOUR device don't have access. Using this operation YOU can copy it to a public place so that other apps have access to it. On the SETTING tab, there is an option to save the recorded files directly to a public place. • Share: YOU can share the audio file through Email, Dropbox, … • Delete: YOU can delete the audio file from your device.

3.5. SETTING TAB

On this tab, YOU can configure the settings for the app. Under each setting, there is detailed description about each setting as well as its influence on the behavior of the app. Click on Advanced Features to get an overview about what additional advanced features are available for the current release. The following are part of the settings available. • Enable External Storage: By default, the audio files are saved in an internal private place which no other apps have access to. However, YOU can decide to save the recorded audio files directly to an external public place so that e.g. YOU can transfer the files to PC. • Enable Notification: This determines whether the notification icon is shown while it is being recorded. By enabling the notification, you can

guarantee that YOU always get one single file for each scheduled recording. In rarely circumstances, if the notification is disabled, you might get more than one file. • Call Interaction: Stop recording automatically when phone calls come in or go out. Scheduled recordings, if any, will be started automatically afterwards. • App Interaction: Stop recording automatically when certain apps start to be running, such as the voice search. You can choose these apps from a list of all installed ones our YOUR device. Scheduled recordings, if any, will be started automatically afterwards. • Sampling Rate: The sampling rate can be configured. Higher sampling rate means higher audio quality but more memory space needed. • Automatic Deletion: The audio files can be deleted automatically if certain number of days have passed since its being recorded. This can be used to save the memory space on YOUR device. • Automatic Upload: The app can upload the audio recordings automatically via the following methods: ➢ FTP ➢ Email ➢ Dropbox Note that only the new recordings after you have configured the method for automatic upload will be uploaded automatically. The old recordings will not be touched. • Password Protection: Enable password protection and eventual password recovery. A password will be asked each time when you start

the app. • Remote Control: The recording schedule of the app will be automatically synchronized with your underlying personal google calendar as long as the title of the scheduled event on google calendar starts with @. Mutiple devices can be controlled by a single underlying personal calendar remotely. 3.6. SERVICE TAB

On this tab, we provide three services for YOU: • Speech-to-Text (Transcription) • Text-to-Speech (Natural Voice) • Text-to-Text (Translation) Click on the info button to get detailed information about the services and the servicing process.
