Uploading recordings to your PC using direct cable link IPhone, iPad and iPod using iPhone App To access the folders and files on your iOS device you will need a software program called iMazing which can be downloaded to your PC from https://imazing.com/ . This enables you to see your Apps and the associated folders and files stored on your iOS device. Files are stored in the iOS device in a Notetalker folder. Inside that folder are sub-folders with each of your recordings and images. In addition there is a conversr.db file which contains information on the bookmarks. Open iMazing and then click on the Notetalker folder, then click on one of the sub-folders with your recordings. You will see the following screens appear.

To copy the files you need across to your PC or Mac you can do use one of two routes. Note: The conversr.db file stores the bookmark information on all the recordings in the sub folders. So each time a recording is added the conversr.db file is updated. This file therefore needs to be copied across as well as the recording files for Notetalker Edit to access the bookmarks for each recording. 1. Set up a Notetalker folder on your desktop or location on your PC. 2. Open the Notetalker folder in iMazing and then drag and drop the folder or folders containing the recordings you want to copy together with the conversr.db file and drop into your Notetalker folder. 3. Open Notetalker Edit and then you can access any of the recordings with associated bookmarks and images from the newly created Notetalker folder. 4. Open the folder with the filename you created in the App. Ignore the file which is shown as 32_filename. Alternatively you can extract a single recording but need to reconstruct a file structure which Notetalker Edit can read.

1. Set up a Notetalker folder on your PC 2. Create a sub-folder where you want to store the recording file and images- let’s call this New Recording. 3. Open the categories folder with your recording and images on iMazing. Select all the relevant files with the same name-images and recording and then Drag and drop into New Recording folder. Ignore the 32_filename recording file. 4. Select conversr.db and drag and drop into the Notetlaker folder. Do not add to the New Recording folder, but place in the Notetalker folder alongside New Recording folder. If you have not added this correctly when you open the recording file in Notetalker Edit it will assume it is a recording file created on another device and ask if you want to import the file. It then creates a new conversr.db file and you will not have access to the bookmarks you made on the iOS device.

Lecture Assistant for iPad Lecture Assistant for iPad stores the recordings you make as zip files so that they can be uploaded individually to an FTP server or to your PC. Open iMazing and select Notetalker App, then select Documents. The following screen will open. This image contains both files and folders from the iPhone app and the zip files from Lecture Assistant

To move these to your PC just select a location you want to store the zip file and drag and drop the zip file to that location. The zip file contains the recording and conversr.db file in the required format for Notetalker Edit to read them and upload them. Notetalker Edit can unzip these files and open the recording. Select the a zip file name, open and you will see the required recording folder which contains your recording, open the folder and then start the recording.
