TimeLox DC-One Dual-Card technology for unparalleled ease of use and flexibility. Each user has just one card, either a smart card or a mag stripe card. It all depends on the privileges you want to give individual users. A smart card can hold more information, while a mag stripe card is relatively inexpensive. Generally speaking, most guests use a mag stripe card, whereas staff and VIP guests have a smart card.

The dynamic power and flexibility of TimeLox DC-One comes from it being a card-based system, rather than being a lockbased system. In simple terms this means that in DC-One much more information is stored on the card and carried by the user, instead of the card being used as “just a key” programmed to interact with static information stored in the locks. Other benefits that come from TimeLox DC-One being a true card-based system is simplified integration with other systems such as POS and PMS, as well as increased flexibility and security. The result is unparalleled convenience and user friendliness, both for guests and staff.

Guest rooms and suites

TimeLox DC-One features customers appreciate. • Dual-Card Technology. Combines economic and reliable mag stripe card technology with flexible and highly secure smart card technology. • Fully Tailored Access. Each smart card can be completely tailored for any user, both for staff and guests. No matter where in the property the chosen doors are situated, the user has access only to those specific doors, and only at chosen times. • Guest, Suite & Common Room Flexibility. Even with a mag stripe card one can encode up to 9 guest rooms, 28 common rooms and unlimited entrance doors. • Auto-Update Option. Automatically updates staff and guest cards with revised access rights, without the card holder having to go to the front desk. • Operator Cards. To log in to the System, all operators need a user id, password and Operator Card. • Validation Option. Uses a pin code validation to provide an extra staff card security level. Lost cards do not have to be cancelled in each lock. • Encoding Reliability. TimeLox card encoders are known for their reliability in encoding data on to cards. In the unlikely event of an encoding error, the encoder keeps the card and requires confirmation by the operator before releasing the card. • Dual-Card Encoder Displays Room Number. Successful card encoding is confirmed by showing the room number on the encoder’s display. • Local Card Verification. An encoder can be used to check the identity of a card. • Writing in Motion™ This patented feature ensures uninterrupted, continuous writing of data immediately a smart card is inserted into a lock. • Moving Log™ Stores the user’s activities on the smart card, which can be read out later. • Audit Trail of the 2000 Latest Events. In addition to showing which cards were used in which locks and other access details, the System can report a wide variety of events, such as attempts to open doors at the wrong time with wrong access rights and/or with a card no longer valid due to it having expired. As an option, lock cases can be provided with a switch to monitor the door position. • Audit Trail Using Smart Card. A smart card can be inserted into a lock and the stored events (entry attempts etc.,) written to the card’s chip. The security department or front desk can subsequently read the data from the card, thereby eliminating the need to carry a hand held readout. • Easy Cancellation of Cards. Cancellation of one card identity does not affect other card identities. • One 9 Volt Alkaline Battery. A lock requires only one standard battery that normally lasts for two to three years. • Battery Low Signal. When power goes below a pre-determined level, a low battery signal indicates the battery status to staff. If staff do not report a low battery signal, they will be denied access to the guest room. However, the guest card will continue to work. • HCU Versatility. The HCU (Handheld Communication Unit) can be used for multiple functions, such as; programming, interrogating, trouble shooting, power opening and updating the lock firmware. • Client-Server Database Technology. For ease of configuration and flexibility. • TCP/IP and LAN/WAN Networking. Various networking and integration options are available. • PMS & POS Systems. The DC-One System interfaces to most POS and PMS systems, in addition to loyalty, player tracking and gaming systems. • Counter Function. VIP guests can load their keycards for payment at the hotel’s facilities, such as the breakfast room, pool or gym. • Future Arrival Cards. Cards may be made in advance with a future valid date as start date.. • Clearance Cards. Prevents a guest from re-entering a room that has been cleaned for next guest. • Stand Open Cards. Allows conference room doors, etc, to remain open for non-card holders. • Energy Saving Option. When a guest leaves the room with the card, energy saving is activated.
