Katie Braithwaite (soprano) Keval Shah (piano) Katie Braithwaite and Keval Shah met whilst reading for undergraduate degrees at Cambridge. During their time at university, Katie and Keval collaborated musically on several occasions, focusing on 20th century song. On 9th January 2016, Katie and Keval will perform a programme of music inspired by the theme of ‘A Night in the Garden’. Using music by Handel, Berg, Fauré, Hahn, Strauss and De Falla, they hope to create a calm and serene sound world. Admission free Retiring collection Monday 25 January

A Song for the Road Tenor Stuart Raeburn and pianist Michael Hodges team up with Piers Burton-Page as narrator to present A Song for the Road. The programme interleaves the nine songs of the Vaughan Williams setting of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Songs of Travel with readings from some of Stevenson’s other poetry and prose, all based on the idea of travel - and highlighting its central place in Stevenson’s life. Hilmar Hauer (trumpet) and Nick Gleed (organ) Hilmar Hauer and Nicholas Gleed will perform a varied selection of music for trumpet and organ including Petr Eben's Okna. Eben says of Okna (‘Windows’) that the listener may take the title to represent windows as the source of light. However, for him this cycle has deeper significance, from the impact on him of seeing pictures of Marc Chagall’s stained-glass windows, each of which has its composition dominated by a particular colour. Victoria Puttock (saxophone) with Grigoris Ioannou (piano Classical saxophonist Victoria Puttock has just graduated with distinction in a Masters of Performance degree from the Royal College of Music. Victoria made her concerto debut in 2009 with Jacques Ibert’s Concertino da Camera and has since gone on to perform many others. Victoria is the Soprano player in the Oracle Saxophone Quartet who recently won the RCM Chamber competition and had the honour of performing at the Pride of Britain Awards and the Royal Variety after show party.
