Ending or Beginning? Spring time is quite unique. We watch as seeds take root and burst through the ground. As they grow upward, we wait with anticipation for the leaves and flowers to come forth as the signs of life and new beginnings and we are in awe of the beauty of nature. But, a poor seed had to come to an end in order for this new life to begin. As the semester draws to a close, one might say the same about a young person going through education and being formed in the “Mind, Heart, and Spirit.” Each year as we end the studies, we must put aside our old way of thinking and understanding and look to grow a little more out of ourselves and into the world. In some ways we can understand that the seed we once were must die to give new life to the plant within us. And this happens each year to the maturing student. But in a special way, to the graduate who looks to make roots in a new place and produce new fruits. This year seems to have passed by like the drop of a leaf. The pictures here only glimpse the many events that have occurred throughout campus ministry this year. From the involvement fair, to toy drives, SOS, mission trips, guest speakers, prayer services, Mass, bible studies, spiritual hikes, retreats, and so much more. We can not begin to list everything but, we hope it has helped impact you in your growing and forming. Next year we look to build off of the many successes we had this year. Taking our programs to new depths and outreaching to many more students along the way. Our goal is to help you have an encounter with the living God and to foster the growth of that relationship both in how you understand it and where it brings you to serve others. This bulletin will show you an introduction to all of our ministries. And I look forward to all that the new academic year offers for all of us. May God Bless you with an incredible, adventurous, safe, and restful summer break. Peace, Fr. Bob “Mac” McLaughlin Director of Campus Ministry

DOVE's Mission The Campus Ministry Division of Volunteer Efforts is one aspect of Seton Hall University's response to the ongoing call for social justice. Our aim is to raise the awareness of the Seton Hall University community to social injustice through direct involvement in serving others. This service stems from our desire to affirm the dignity of all people and to live as Christ taught us by putting our faith into action. The Division of Volunteer Efforts seeks to aid Seton Hall University in its commitment to graduate not only well educated professionals, but also compassionate individuals rooted in and guided by faith and its expression in firm moral convictions. DOVE encourages all members of the Seton Hall community, regardless of faith or service background to get involved. Since 2004, the Division of Volunteer Efforts at Seton Hall University has been organizing volunteer trips to one of the poorest communities in El Salvador, Haiti, Philadelphia, and West Virginia. What started as just a few students spending their spring break serving others has now grown into a considerable program that sends students with 2priests and DOVE staff members to serve several times each year.

Student Choirs and Ministries of the Altar Sunday evenings during the school year we have student led choirs during Mass. Each year we encourage students to consider volunteering their voices to one of the choirs which range in musical format as well as musical ability. Consider joining us and lifting your voices with ours in song. We also need students to take on the various liturgical roles such as: Lectors, Servers, Eucharistic Minister or Ushers. When you are ready to serve, we have a role for you. Page 5 - 673
