Vibha Malhotra
Art in the Park Exhibitors
Alison Syer completed the Art Fundamentals (Illustration stream) with Honours, from the three year Crafts and Design program at Sheridan, earning a Diploma of Applied Arts, with a studio concentration in textiles. She received an honourable mention for her work in textiles, at the Mississauga Arts Council's MARTY Awards. Vibha Malhotra is a practicing painter. Her work is a continuous study in colour and shape.
Michelle Miwa
Michelle Miwa is jeweler. Each piece of glass is hand cut, designed and built into a beautiful piece of wearable art. She does not use molds. They are created using quality art glass and dichroic glass, then fused several times and annealed in a kiln. Owner of Green Leaf.
Ron Sypher
Ron Sypher paints a wide range of subject matter, with emphasis on landscapes, cityscapes, floral, still life, seascapes and wildlife. His paintings bring out the vivid, vibrant colours of acrylics, while capturing the serenity of the scenes. He enjoys the versatility of acrylics as it allows full freedom in creating the realistic style of his paintings.
Micheline Montgomery
Micheline Montgomery is a painter. Her paintings and portraits of brightly painted and collaged figures. In collage, she uses materials that are found, recycled and re-used. As well, she uses water-based paints, acid free glue and cotton rag and stone paper. She is constantly seeking new ways to ‘green’ her art.”

Yolanda Fernandes is a painter. She appreciates working with ink, water-colors, gouache, pastels, color pencils and more, but has a special preference for acrylic paints. She loves to balance unique colors, with movement, energy and texture.

Rasheeda Motiwala is watercolour painting and textile artist. Her practice involves flowers and her watercolour work translates into silk scarves and accessories.

Art in the Park Exhibitor Bios Marilyn Hepburn
Marilyn Hepburn is a painter inspired by the different cultures of every country she has visited. The architecture and colors portray the history of the world we can only envisage. Her love for watercolour developed when she retired and was inspired by the need to leave her family a heritage that comes from the heart.
Veronica Lee
Veronica Lee is a jeweller. Strung Out On Pearls, began in 2010. Her designs have expanded into a semi-precious line using Swarovski crystals, Sterling Silver & Semi-precious beads such as Agates, Labradorite, Lapis lazuli, Peridot & Onyx. Christine Fry is an avid drawer and is currently pursuing her Fine Arts degree in Printmaking at OCAD University. She works primarily in Print (relief, intaglio, lithography and screen) and is moving her work towards sculpture/installation utilizing printed paper.

Henry Lobo is painter. His work is acrylic paintings of landscapes and nature on shale as a canvas. The artwork varies from large rock canvases to miniature collections.
Payal Gupta
Payal Gupta is a henna artist and painter. She creates intricate artwork using henna techniques with acrylic paints in bright metallic colours, creating vibrant & textured images.
Janice Ykema
Janice Ykema both expressionistic and painterly painter. She celebrates the acrylic medium, using it to evoke emotion in the viewer. Inspiration comes through observation of humanity and her desire to translate understanding through the use of living things.

White Oaks Art Group is a group of painters. They are current members of VAM and continue to exhibit their work as a collective group.

Ela Oprhal is a painter. She started painting on silk, using watercolour technique. In the last eight years she has been painting with pastels and oils. She is a member of Oakville Art Society, Artworks Oakville, FASM Milton, and VAM Mississauga.
Mira Magnone
Mira Magnone is a sculptor. She is an Artist and an Instructor in the Toronto area using a unique, water based, non-toxic, textile hardening medium called Paverpol to create various statues, figures, and 2D paintings. Mira is a Certified Paverpol Instructor.

Nicole van der Oord is a textile artist. Owner of Fleurtje. Handmade, functional bags. Using vintage fabric, appliqué, upholstery vinyl and leather, she creates one of a kind pieces and small collections.
Katalin Mellary
Katalin Mellary is a painter. Katalin’s art reflects her remarkable ability to paint landscapes and her talent to capture the essence of nature. She has been painting for over 30 years. She currently resides in Mississauga and continues to work as a free-lance artist, predominantly on oil paintings.

Marianne Gibson is an encaustic painter. Inspired by the human figure & Ontario’s natural beauty. She’s been creating encaustic paintings for over seven years. Some works include image transfers while others result from spontaneous nature of painting with beeswax.
Marlene Knight
Marlene Knight is a fibre artist. Marlene is a quilling artist, and uses strips of paper, rolled and shaped and glued to create decorative designs on greeting cards, pictures, earrings, etc.
Belinda Carmichael
Belinda Carmichael is a jeweller. Her ideas for designs are inspired by nature, and the clean lines and shapes I can achieve with a simple silhouette of solid silver. Her designs are handmade by myself in the traditional way at a jeweler’s bench here in Mississauga.
Susan Seagrove Sjon de Groot Elysia Prokopetz Cynthia Blanton
Susan Seagrove is a watercolourist. Using watercolour and inks & other texture making materials in an experimental approach to image making. Her paintings began with her love of colour & efforts to bring the garden into the home. Sjon de Groot is a painter. Principally works in oils, combining traditional European & North American techniques. The work is bold and an expression in colour of a South African coming to terms with his adopted land; combining his African & North American experience with the influence of his Dutch artist ancestors. Elysia Prokopetz is a glass artist. My pieces are both functional, decorative and food safe. All pieces are designed from glass that is handpicked, hand cut by myself, some incorporating recycled blown glass. Cynthia Blanton is a jeweller. Earning a Certificate in Fashion Design from the Parsons School of Design in New York City. Her training in polymer clay and jewellery-making Many of my pieces are one-of-a-kind and her product line is diverse.
John Lightfoot
John Lightfoot is a painter. Whether environmental, portrait or landscape, his experience as a designer allows him to create impactful images full of life, jewel-toned hues and dramatic light quality using techniques of back-painting, under-painting and complex layering of colour.
Christine Berube &
Christine Berube is a ceramics jeweller. She hand-build clay shapes, simple colour, shape and form to drive the creation of these pendants luxurious use of gold and silver luster on the glazed pieces, creating unique and intricate pieces. Lydia Zdero is a printmaker and painter. Working in a relatively illustrative and graphic style, she works with wood in my sculptural works, favoring the dye-grinder to carve and shape. She is largely inspired by fantasy to contemporary geometric.

Andrea Howson is a painter. Her artwork takes a whimsical view of animals and people. She portrays her subjects head-on looking, amusing & curiously out at the viewer. Intended to inspire more daydreams of a happier world in vivid colours.
Helen O’ Sullivan
Helen O’Sullivan is a textile artist. handmade, one of a kind scarf, layers of silk & merino wool are layered together to create a lightweight statement piece that will liven up any outfit. In one scarf, you will enjoy the delicacy of a silk scarf with the warmth and softness of a wool scarf.

TREAD ON IT! TREAD ON IT! is an interactive art activity on-site at Art in the Park. This free activity invites the public to join artist Jeff Mann in this printmaking activity with used car parts such as gears and tires to create unique designs.
