‘Childswickham Memorial Hall A G M The Chairman thanked Frank Spencer and John Davis who have retired from being trustees. Frank played a leading part in the refurbishment of the hall in 2002 and John has been involved in maintenance, including regularly monitoring the fire alarm and electrical system. John Cole was welcomed as a trustee and has agreed to monitor the electrical and fire alarm systems. The treasurer reported an increase in income as hall lettings continued to improve. Carpet bowling has continued on a Monday evening and a Tuesday after noon with 20 people regularly bowling. A clothing bank was installed by British Textile Recycling Co, thank you to those who have supported the bank this year it has raised £108.00. There have been new activities in the hall, puppy training on a Tuesday morning, ballroom dancing classes take place on the third Sunday of the month and a U3A photography class on a Monday morning. As the hall is a public building mandatory testing has to take place of the following:The servicing of the gas central heating system and boilers The servicing of the fire extinguishers The P A T testing of electrical appliances The test of the emergency lighting at the exits The cost of these was £617.00. With the increase in revenue from hall lettings it was decided to:Refurbish the snooker table which included replacing the cloth and cushions and installing a new lighting system over the table To have the hall deep cleaned by a contractor which included cleaning the high ceiling and walls and shampooing the carpets and chairs To have the exterior of the Memorial Hall painted The cost of these improvements to the hall was £3600.00. Superfast broadband arrives in your areaAs part of the Superfast Worcestershire Broadband Programme, a number of broadband street cabinets have been upgraded to superfast fibre broadband and are now live and ready to take orders in your parish. Cabinets which are not yet live soon will be – details are given below. Please bear in mind that there may also be other cabinets planned for your area in the coming months. We will regularly update your community with any future works. This means that more residents and businesses in the parish will be able to request an upgrade to fibre-enabled broadband from a range of Internet Service Providers (ISPs). In most cases, this means that residents can select a broadband service offering download speeds above 24Mb/s following infrastructure upgrades made via the Superfast Worcestershire Broadband Programme.Superfast Worcestershire is funded by Worcestershire County Council, Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), BT and the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership through the Government's Growth Deal to provide access to fibre-enabled broadband where this is not commercially viable without public sector investment.

How to upgrade to superfast broadband Please note that improved broadband services are not turned on automatically. To upgrade superfast broadband, please contact your chosen ISP or use comparison sites to find available packages. One of the comparison websites is: www.cable.co.uk Other comparison sites are available. Answers to most frequently asked questions can also be found at: http://www.superfastworcestershire.com/#faqs If you contact your choice of ISP, please state that you wish to order ‘fibre-enabled / superfast broadband,’ otherwise they may offer you a slower broadband service. Your chosen ISP should be able to offer any technical assistance to access fibre-enabled / superfast broadband. What to expectIt is important to note that not all premises within a postcode area will necessarily be able to order superfast speeds (above 24Mb/s). Premises will be able to access a range of speeds – some will get superfast broadband and others will be able to get anywhere between 2Mb/s and 24Mb/s, depending on their distance from the cabinet. There may also be other cabinets in your area that have yet to be planned, have recently become live or have been installed by BT Openreach as part of its commercial deployment. Please check the following website to see up-to-date details for any postcodes in your area: http://www.superfastworcestershire.com Key "Live now" = Cabinets accepting customer orders for Superfast Broadband "Coming soon" = Cabinets that we expect will be accepting customer orders for Superfast Broadband by Autumn 2017
