The Case for Support Mission of Market Transformation

Green Schools for Every Child

With more than 400 LEED projects in Kentucky, we rank 33rd in the U.S. for LEED buildings and neighborhoods. Help us grow Kentucky’s green portfolio!

Our goal: For every child in Kentucky to attend a green school within this generation. Help us share information, tools, and provide expertise to school districts about the health, learning, safety and community benefits of green schools.

While incentives, legislation and standards have helped spur growth in green projects, leadership from our Chapters and Members is essential for continued momentum. Help us continue strong advocacy at local and state levels!

The bi-partisan lead Kentucky Green Schools Caucus, was established in 2010 by unanimous votes in the House and Senate. Help us continue the important dialogue in the legislature on green schools.

There are more than 1000 LEED Accredited Professionals in Kentucky. Kentucky USGBC helps meet the demand for credentials with classes for college students, the trades, professionals, property owners and greenminded citizens.Help us educate and build expertise!

Kentucky is home to the nation’s first netzero energy school. A Jessamine County school is the first in Kentucky to pursue LEED Existing Building certification. Help us create other firsts for our students!

Emerging Professional Growth
