‘SELF FLY’ KRUGER NATIONAL PARK, FLYING SAFARI 9 Day (8 nights) This is an exhilarating guided self fly safari. Spend time flying over Southern Africa and the Kruger National Park area.

‘Self Flying’ Safari

FULL ITINERARY Day 1 (30 min. flight) We take off from Wonderboom Airport for a short flight proceed to a 4 STAR Game Lodge situated in the new Dinokeng Game Reserve near Pretoria. After check-in at the 4 star Lodge we can relax around the pool or go on a mini safari ending off with a sun downer cruise on the lake or even try your luck with some bass fishing.

Four star Lodge

Day 2, 3 (40 min flight) After breakfast we take off in a Northerly direction to a lovely 4 star game Lodge. Awaken to the sounds of roaring lions from our lion park and enjoy daily lion tours, game drives horseback safari ,or the extreme adventure experience “Walk with lions” a one of its kind experience offered in Limpopo.

Day 4,5, 6 (1 hour 30 min flight) After breakfast we take off for a flight to a private game lodge situated next to the Kruger National Park area. We touch down the Hoedspruit Civil Airport which is situated in a small village called Hoedspruit. Your Safety pilot / guide will transfer you to the Private game lodge. We will go on a short game drive through the Kruger National Park and stopping for snack and drinks at one of the main camp and do a little curio shopping. On our return to the Game Lodge you can relax around the waterhole while your guide will prepare a traditional South African braai (Barbeque). The Dinner table will be set around a fire under a star studded African sky.

Private Game Lodge

A 05:30 start is needed here to enjoy a walk through the bush. For this special walk you are accompanied by a lion or cheetah and of course a game ranger. The cheetah stays in close proximity to you while you enjoy a full English breakfast. Curio shopping can be done at traditional bush boutique. We return to the game lodge and relax at the water hole. After a light snack set off for a visit to a wild life rehabilitation centre situated just below the Drakensberg Mountains. This centre provides a home for many abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife. Many interesting wildlife encounters await you. Animals that you will possibly see are lion, leopard, honey badger, lynx, eagles, vultures and a variety of baby animals. You are given an opportunity to feed a vulture while it is perched on your arm. On return, prepare yourselves for a hearty South African Poitjie bush dinner.

Walk with Cheetah and feed a vulture Day 7, 8 (1 hr flight) Take off after walk and breakfast for the Southern part of Kruger National Park to a 4 star Lodge, built on the banks of the Crocodile River which has sweeping views over the Kruger National Park. After an early breakfast on the second day we depart for the Kruger National Park. We will enter the Kruger National Park at the Malelane gate which is situated on the most Southern point of the Kruger National Park. We start with a full day game drive through Kruger National Park with stops at various camps for lunch or some shopping. On our return to the Lodge we can relax and enjoy a sun downer while watching the wild life activity on the Crocodile River.

Day 9 ( We depart for Wonderboom Airport via Nelspruit Airport for refuelling.

INCLUDES Aircraft C172 hire road transfers, four star lodges dinner, bed and breakfast, game activities in Kruger National Park, Safety pilot / guide, Game park levies. EXCLUDES Alcohol beverages, personal goods, laundry, airfare to and from South Africa, telephone calls, travel insurance, entry visas, additional activities, extra costs due to weather. THREE DAY FLIGHT CHECK OUT. Arrive at O R Tambo International Airport and transferred to Wonderboom Airport where you will be staying during the check out. This will be very convenient because the 4 star accommodation is on the first floor above the training centre.

The procedure for the Validation of a foreign license will be as follow: 1 - A student must write a South African Air law Examination 2 - Dual Flight Training on the same type and class of aircraft that the student is endorsed in his logbook. 3 - An initial PPL skills test with a Grade II Flight Instructor. 4 - A briefing with a Grade II Flight Instructor regarding Density Altitude.

The cost will include the following: 1 – Air law Examination and handbook: 2 - 3 hours Dual Flight Training on Cessna 172 3 - An Initial PPL Skills Test on a Cessna 172 4 - A 2 hour briefing with a Grade II Flight Instructor 5 - SACAA Licence Fees

Terms & Conditions for the Hire of the Aircraft: 1 - Aircraft shall only be allowed to operate to and From Tarred & Licensed Runways. No operations. To and from dirt runways and unlicensed runways are allowed. 2 - All crew must have a minimum of 300 hours total time and 20 hours on type of aircraft to be operated. 3 - All crew must have excess insurance. 4 - A minimum of 2.2 hours must be flown per aircraft per day. 5 - A maximum of 1 crew and 2 passengers per aircraft will be allowed at all times during flight.

6 - An administrative fee of US$100 per aircraft will be charged. (Included in price) 7 - The rate to hire the aircraft will be US$ 210 per hour. (Included in price) 8 - The total fees and cost for the hire of the aircraft must be paid upfront. 9 - Should the pilots have done 6 hours of flight in the last 6 months, the 3 hours of Training Flight might be wavered. (Step 2)
