Established in 1898, The Kruger National Park serves as protector to the animals of the South African Lowveld. The park has grown in fame and facilities and is now one of the top reserves in the world. At a size of nearly 2 million hectares, it's the largest game park in South Africa. The climate is extremely agreeable: hot summers and dry winters. With an incredible collection of game, birds, flora and fauna, the Kruger National Park is a visual feast. It has 147 mammal species, including the Big Five, 114 species of reptile, 34 amphibian, 507 bird, 49 fish and 336 species of trees in addition to ancient Bushman rock paintings and other archaeological sites. Luxury Lodges offering top quality accommodation, warm hospitality and superb cuisine are located in the Sabi Sands and Timbavati regions of Kruger National Park. The Rangers and Trackers, on Safari, are highly skilled and knowledgeable, and share interesting facts and stories of nature that abound in this magnificent wilderness.
