Missing window! Saint Rose of Lima was the window selected for evalua$on. It has been removed and transported to the Conrad Schmi& Studios in New Berlin, WI.

This is a 100 YEAR PROJECT, meaning that the work we are beginning now will not only benefit us but the next 3-4 genera$ons of families at Saint Joseph! My invita$on stands for you to take a look at the windows in the Sacristy area. You can see the distress they face a"er nearly 125 years of service.

Their ar$sts will catalog the window, iden$fy the types of glass used and then disassemble the window. Replacing damaged class to original condi$on, reconstruc$ng the window to original specifica$ons from the late 1890s then returning it to Saint Joseph.

Conrad Schmi& Studios will need to source significant supplies, schedule their work flow to restore all of the windows. They can only do that a"er they evaluate and restore the Saint Rose Window.

I am anxious to see the window once it is back. There is no doubt that seeing it returned to it’s original beauty will inspire.

For us to start the complete restora$on they need to secure the supplies and work with our schedule. This may mean star$ng a"er the Advent season.

Recall when the Mosaics were cleaned and restored and the impact it had on their beauty. Many people s$ll comment on their transforma$on.

We currently have storm windows in place and they will remain as our protec$on from the weather. We expect the inside of the building to be much brighter during this period.

What is even more significant is that these windows will be structurally saved at the same $me.

Catholic Café Last Sunday of the month Join us for praise and worship TONIGHT, May 28th directly a"er the 6 pm contemporary Mass! We will be praising our Lord through music, singing moving songs of praise and adora$on to our wonderful God! Praise and worship will last un$l about 6:45, and following will be dinner and conversa$on on the plaza! All are welcome!

Catholic Café will some$mes have guest speakers who will witness their faith filled tes$monies. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

I will do my best to keep you up to date with the project. God bless.

Saint Joseph Catholic Church E V E RY DAY ST E WA R D S H I P I remember watching part of a college gradua$on address where the speaker said, "With this degree you are commissioned to go into the world and make a difference." The imagery conjured up in my mind by the use of the word "commissioned" was pre&y powerful. I thought about the commissioning of military officers and the responsibility they took on for the lives of their subordinates but also the lives of those they protected. To me the word meant something very serious and solemn. It meant huge responsibility and expecta$on.

The word commission makes this more than a sugges$on or a hope. There is an expecta$on, a responsibility, and a mandate. Of course, did you wake up this morning thinking about how you would fulfill the Great Commission today?

Sharing the faith is not just something we should do; it is something we must do. The key is that you don't need to speak all the $me to share. It will be through your life of stewardship that others will be able to see Jesus. By giving of yourself, by always responding to the call, and by surrendering all to God, In the Bible, Jesus gives what we call you will lead others to become discithe Great Commission: ples, to seek out the sacraments, and to observe his teachings. Saint Joseph Catholic Church F0R REFLECTION . The Ascension of the Lord "When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted." What a reassuring description! The first disciples knew Jesus in person, saw him after his resurrection and beheld his glorious ascension into heaven. Yet they experienced doubt. In the face of so much concrete "evidence," even these original witnesses struggled to have perfect faith in Christ. We too may have times when we find it challenging to believe. Trials and temptations may cause us to second-guess God's power. Perhaps the Gospel message, in the face of our sin, may appear too good to be true. But, like the disciples, we

need not let such thoughts paralyze us. They doubted, but they worshiped too. This is a relief. When we worship God, it doesn't have to "feel" perfect. We worship him because he deserves our adoration, our affection, or at the very least, our attention. We go to Mass and we pray as a way of giving something-however little--back to God. These acts of worship do not require that everything already be in order in our souls. On the contrary, the act of worship helps us to realign our spiritual compass. By praising and honoring God, we open ourselves to his presence, and train ourselves to recognize

his action in our lives. Jesus responds to his doubting friends by putting his faith in them. He does not reprimand them or strip them of the title "disciple." Instead, he entrusts them with an important mission, the Great Commission: he sends them out to make more disciples. But he promises to give them what they need to do it. "I am with you always," he reassures them. We are also heirs of this promise. Jesus is here with us even now...believe it or not.
