Dear Parishioners, After Mass today I will be gone until August 25 as I have two previous commitments at St. Bruno, Dousman and at St. Jerome, Oconomowoc. I was pastor at St. Bruno’s for nine years so I’ll be in familiar territory with old friends. Maybe I can get into a nickel Sheepshead game and win some gas money! I will, however miss you, my new friends, who have been so kind to me (and Turk)! I’ll see you soon. Fr. John Schreiter
Commandment of Mercy # 9 Remember that mercy calls us to do works both spiritual and physical. Our Christian faith challenges us to perform mercy in a double way, corporeally and spiritually. The classic corporal works of mercy are: Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, shelter the homeless, cloth the naked, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned, and bury the dead. The classic spiritual works of mercy are: instruct the ignorant, counsel the doubtful, comfort the afflicted, admonish the sinner, forgive offenses, bear wrongs patiently, and pray for the living and the dead. God has given us different gifts and all of us are better at some of these than at others, but mercy is manifest in all of them. St. Vincent de Paul Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 5:30pm in the Parish Office. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 8.

Please join the St. John the Baptist leadership and staff in welcoming Roseanne Krueger as our new Pastoral Associate / Director of Ministries. Roseanne joined the staff August 1st on a part-time basis but expects to be full-time within the next six months. Initially, her focus will be on the ministries of St. John the Baptist, including; R.C.I.A., adult faith formation and Children’s Liturgy of the Word. She will be providing support for all our established pastoral ministries and look to identify and develop additional ones in the near future. Also, Roseanne will be providing pastoral support in areas such as baptismal and marital preparation and generally helping Fr. Phil and our assisting priests in the pastoral care of our parish. Roseanne is from Plymouth and attended SJB grade school. She worked most recently, for 15 years, at Sargento Foods, Inc. in various senior management roles as well as management positions in other companies. Roseanne has an MBA and is currently working on a the Master of Arts Degree for Catechesis and Evangelization. The past few years she has been very involved in volunteer work here at SJB such as teaching both high school and grade school catechism, teaching R.C.I.A. and facilitating the Divorce Survival Ministry. She is an Extraordinary Minister at the nursing homes for the St. Vincent De Paul Society and she is a tenor in the Classical Choir. In the next few weeks Roseanne will be reaching out to all the Ministry Coordinators to understand the status of their current activities and assess their needs. She looks forward to working with all the volunteers and not only carry on the great work that has been accomplished to date but also to expand on the ministries program we have at SJB. We have a truly faith filled parish here at SJB and it is reflected in the programs we offer to our community. We look forward to the many contributions that Roseanne will make to our parish and pray for many blessing on her as she begins her new calling in service of the faithful.
Welcome Roseanne!
St. John the Baptist Plymouth St. John the Baptist Mission Weekend August 20-21 Foundation for Children in Need
2016 Archdiocese of Milwaukee Missionary Cooperation Plan The Missionary Cooperation Plan is a program by which missionaries from around the world are invited to speak at parishes in our archdiocese. During these presentations they share information about their work and ministry and tell stories from the mission. Parishioners have the opportunity to hear firsthand about the Global Church and learn about people, cultures, and projects from all over the world. This summer our parish welcomes Foundation for Children in Need (FCN). FCN is a not -for-profit organization established to assemble the energies, commitment and resources of men, women and youth who enhance the quality of life of the needy while bringing the awareness of many blessings into each one’s lives. FCN provides help to needy children, college students and the elderly in the rural villages of India. Learn more about FCN in next weeks bulletin.
