As Lent continues, please join us by picking a couple of hearts each week and doing the Act of Mercy recommended on that heart. Then bring the hearts back with a note about what you did so that we can add them to our banners. Let us be Missionaries of Mercy – all of us together! Also remember the Daily Dose of Mercy Booklets. Let them inspire you with mercy. We are adding to our Lent the Novena of Grace this week: Here is an explanation of this famous devotion. The Novena of Grace of St. Francis Xavier We will be celebrating the Novena of Grace beginning this Friday. It is a devotion particular to Jesuit parishes due to its history of a vision of Jesuit St. Francis Xavier to a Jesuit who was dying: The Novena of Grace, which begins March 4th and ends on the 12th, the day of the canonization of St. Francis Xavier, owes its origin to the Saint himself. At Naples, in December, 1633, Father Marcello Mastrilli, S.J. was at the point of death. The Saint appeared to him and, bidding him renew a vow he had made to labor in Japan (where he would die a martyr), said: PROMISE: "All those who implore my help daily for nine

consecutive days, from the 4th to the 12th of March included, and worthily receive the Sacraments of Penance and the Holy Eucharist on one of the nine days, will experience my protection and may hope with entire assurance to obtain from God any grace they ask for the good of their souls and the glory of God."

Vía Crucis Acompáñennos cada viernes a las 6PM durante la Cuaresmas para rezar el Vía Crucis juntos. NOVENA DE LA GRACIA 4 al 12 de marzo Acompáñenos después de la misa diaria de 7PM pidiendo la intercesión de San Francisco Javier. Es una tradición en las parroquias jesuitas. P. Pepe nos guiará. Curso Alpha Estamos comenzando el Curso Alpha de nuevo. Este curso presenta nuestra fe en una poderosa manera que nos lleva a querer seguir a Jesús y vivir para Él todos los días. A través de explicaciones de video, nos da confianza sobre lo que creemos. Esto nos lleva a la oración y la gracia del Espíritu Santo para servir a Dios. Acompáñanos los lunes a las 7pm.

PARISH MISSION Fr. Bill is offering a class to learn how to manage our tensions and stress, and also how to heal many of our pains and hurts. Join us March 9th and 10th from 7:40PM to 8:30PM in the church. Join our parish Book Club with Fr. John on February 29th at 7PM in the parish office. All you need to do is pick up a copy of Salt, Leaven and Light: The Community Called Church by T. Howland Sanks from our bookstore. ALTAR SERVERS we will be meeting every Friday during Lent at 5:45pm in Salon Tepeyac. New servers are welcomed. OLS Parents Prayer Group: We are holding a weekly Parents Prayer Group on Thursdays at 8:15 a.m. It is held at North Campus in the Serra Center. Everyone is welcomed to join us.

We are beginning a Vocation Circle! This Circle is to help young adults to listen to the call of God in their lives. It is for men and women who are discerning the direction of God in their lives: to marry, to become priests or nuns, to serve God in other capacities. We just ask that the young men and women be serious about their love for God and that they be open to whatever vocation God may be calling them. We will start meeting in two weeks. Interested? Call Fr. John at the office. FREE CHILDCARE ON SUNDAYS Drop off your 3-6 year olds at the Day Care Room in the school before the 9am and 10:30am Masses. They too hear the Gospel message. HELP? Participa en y Ayuno de Comida para explorar cómo puedes responder al hambre en un mundo de abundancia. Vamos a caminar con los más necesitados al ayunar juntos (o abstenernos de comida) como una forma de vivir nuestra fe católica. Youth Ministry: March 5th - Mul ple parishes will be a ending a hike in La Jolla Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve from 9am -12pm. March 6th- Rummage Sale- I will offer students service hours for Confirma on and also if students will like to a end Steubenville, they can bring any items to sell in order to fund raise. March 12th - We are organizing a Pilgrimage to the Mission of San Diego as part of the Year of Mercy. All second year students who did not a end the Winter Retreat are asked to go with us as part of their Confirma on experience. March 13th - Youth Mass! We are also having a bake sale a er the morning Masses if students are interested in service hours.
