RTS Charlotte The Charlotte Campus of Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) trains students for many areas of ministry, from the local church to the university campus. Grounded in the rich heritage of the Reformed tradition, our aim is to build every student’s foundation upon the Word of God. We want to prepare our students to preach and teach the Word faithfully in various contexts while exemplifying our motto, “A mind for truth. A heart for God.”

Our Program Our program, modeled after Calvin’s Academy, focuses on developing students who are pastors and scholars. We emphasize training our students in biblical and theological studies, not only enabling them to exposit the meaning of the Bible, but also equipping them to preach, teach, and counsel people in a way that both applies Scripture to their lives and builds up their faith. ~ John Calvin Our Community Our campus is located in the beautiful city of Charlotte, NC which is on the border of the Carolinas and one of the fastest growing areas in the South. We are surrounded by 3,000 churches within an hour’s drive from the campus. Consistently ranked as one of the best places to live and relocate, Charlotte is a great place to live, study, and raise a family!

The IRCM Ministry among college students is one of the most significant and strategic ways to develop the next generation’s church leaders and evangelize the lost. As a result of great interest in this area within our faculty and student body, the Institute for Reformed Campus Ministry (IRCM) at RTS Charlotte was formed in 2009. Briefly, our program consists of the following areas:

A new degree emphasis. The IRCM includes a degree emphasis within the MDiv program that offers distinctive courses and electives in the area of campus ministry. These courses are taken in place of other courses already in the MDiv curriculum. Professors with campus ministry experience. Many of the specialized courses are taught by residential and visiting professors with a special degree of experience and expertise in campus ministry. The IRCM Fellowship. The future campus ministers and leaders enrolled in the IRCM will regularly meet together to develop a community of fellowship and to create an environment where ideas and strategies about campus ministry can be freely developed, discussed, and exchanged. Campus ministry opportunities. The city of Charlotte provides students with easy access to campus environments where ministry is taking place. Many universities and colleges exist within an hour of Charlotte. Students enrolled in the IRCM can complete their field hour requirements by serving with these campus ministries. Scholarships and funding. RTS Charlotte is committed to giving generous scholarship help to those connected with multiple national and international campus ministries.

Values of the IRCM: 1. Theologically Informed Ministry ~ 1 Tim 4:6

2. Centrality of Preaching 3. Commitment to the Local Church 4. Development of a World and Life View 5. Equipping in Apologetics and Evangelism *For more detailed info on these areas, check out www.rts.edu/IRCM
