Role description At Swanswell we have ambition. We believe in a society free from problem alcohol and drug use. To achieve this we’re looking for people who can lead our teams in delivering excellent services to our service users. You’ll be a confident leader who is passionate about supporting our service users to move into recovery and giving our team members the support they need to help this happen. The most important things you’ll bring to this role are your positive attitude, enthusiasm, integrity and ability to use initiative as well as your belief in our ambition: to eliminate the problems of alcohol and drug use within a generation. You’ll need to have good writing and computing skills, and be able to work confidently with all Microsoft programs. You’ll also need to be very organised, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines. Salary This is a full-time post earning up to £28,694 gross per annum. Hours of work This post is for a 37 hour week. You will be required to work some evenings, weekends, bank holidays and some unsociable hours in order to meet our service delivery requirements. Swanswell operates a flexible working system, so you’ll be able to work flexible hours based on service needs. Annual leave Swanswell’s holiday entitlement is 36 days per holiday year (28 days plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays). This will be a pro rata amount for part time and fixed term contract employees. Transport This role may require you to travel and work to other Swanswell offices, so a current driving licence and own transport would be desirable.

Key activities and responsibilities 

Lead a team of Substance Misuse Workers and Recovery Workers in the delivering excellent services for our service users



Manage time keeping and attendance of team members



Manage the performance of team members against contractual targets and KPI’s and issues identified in clinical supervision



Investigate conduct and performance issues including carrying out disciplinary hearings and capability plans with team members



Complete performance reviews and annual appraisals of team members



Lead the teams engagement with Swanswell’s vision and mission



Implement Swanswell’s service user involvement model within the team



Recruit and induct new team members into the team



Develop effective links with local partner agencies to enhance service delivery



Ensure high standards of office security and confidentiality within the team



Take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of service users, relevant others including children and vulnerable adults and members of the community
