Business Development Consultant – Disability Employment Services (DES) KARINGAL MISSION Enriching peoples’ lives through support, advocacy, partnership and choice Karingal is a community service organisation which is committed to providing services that enhance the lives of individuals. Our team takes pride in proactively supporting people with disabilities, disadvantages and those who are aged, to live full and active lives. We have services in Melbourne, Regional areas in Victoria, Adelaide and Brisbane. DIVISION DESCRIPTION MatchWorks provides a range of employment and related services to job seekers from 57 services locations across Regional Victoria, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. These services include Job Services Australia and Disability Employment Services. BRANCH DESCRIPTION Disability Employment Services (DES) provides Disability Management Services and Employment Support Services. These services support people with a disability, illness or injury who are striving to gain, return to and maintain open employment. Position Specifics Position Objective:

To build relationships with job seekers and employers in order to gain and maintain meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities for people with disability, illness or injury.

Karingal Collective Agreement: MatchWorks Operational Staff Structure Wages will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. An attractive salary package will be offered which includes access to salary packaging provisions and fully maintained vehicle. Superannuation is paid at 9% Organisational Relationships Site Manager

professionals and social service providers Position Responsibilities & Duties Job seeker and Employer Services Working closely with Employment Consultants/Case Managers:  Assist the jobseeker with pre-employment skill development, independent job search, work trials and development of resume appropriate to various employment fields  Educate employer around the benefits and requirements of employing people with and injury, disability or medical condition: vocational rehabilitation, vocational counselling, education and skill development  Coordination of employment related training and ongoing on/off job support  Use of appropriate tools and servicing strategies in assisting jobseekers to gain and maintain sustainable employment opportunities.  To build relationships with our job seekers and employers in order to obtain and maintain suitable ongoing employment.  Support job seekers in the workplace to maintain ongoing employment through effective PPS.  Assist Employment Consultants and client with preemployment strategies to assist in preparation for employment.  Continually survey the local job market in order to locate suitable employment opportunities relevant to the individual client’s skills and abilities.  Develop and action effective strategies to effectively canvass and reverse market job seekers to employers for suitable job opportunities in line with individual needs.  Achieve employment placement and outcomes relevant to individual objectives.

Communication  High level of verbal, written and listening communication skills are required including interviewing, assessment and planning skills  Conduct all job seeker, employer and network interactions with high level of customer service  Liaise with other operational staff to monitor jobseeker activities  Liaise closely with other service providers including Training Institutions in order to maintain knowledge of and influence activities available to jobseekers  Participate in relevant industry conferences and training Documentation & Compliance  Completion of documentation is required as per DEEWR contracts and/or MatchWorks work procedures and quality and compliance standards.  Maintain case records and progress reporting in accordance with DEEWR guidelines and MatchWorks policy and procedures  Ensure adherence to individual client’s privacy and disclosure requirements.  Contribute to Employment Pathway Plans to ensure they are relevant to job placement and post placement support.

Measurable Outcomes Contributes to the achievement of program KPIs, star ratings and individual role objectives

Ensures that the number and percentage of clients placed into PPS reach set program outcome targets

Evidence of reverse marketing of job seekers with a variety of barriers to employment, as directed by management

Establishes good working relationships with employers and sources suitable employment vacancies for job seekers in the demographic

Achieves job seeker employment retention rates for 13- and 26-week outcomes as prescribed by manager

Ensures effective communication with job seekers, employers, colleagues and other industry stakeholders at all times

Complies with internal and external contracts, guidelines and other requirements – including Karingal and MatchWorks internal Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions and DEEWR contract provisions

 Documentation must be accurate, up-to-date and submitted in a timely manner

 Provide a service which meets the Disability Service Standards and other associated Quality systems and compliance requirements (including Karingal Quality systems, DEEWR Code of Conduct and Service Guarantee) Contribution to team and continuous improvement  Willingness to undertake further training for self-development  Display professionalism in all internal and external communications and transactions  Participate in meetings, policy and organisational development activities as required.  Attend regular site meetings and regional Employment Consultant seminars  Liaise with other MatchWorks Employment Services Consultants and participate in BDC meetings when scheduled.

Builds effective relationships with Employment Consultants and other relevant staff Actively participates in meetings and training, and contributes toward team targets and goals

General
