Using Examview Test Manager/Player 1. Create an Examview Test using Test Generator. 2. You may choose to save the Examview file (.tst) for future reference. Publishing your test to be taken with Examview Test Player 1. Open the test you plan to publish in Examview Test Generator 2. Click , , 3. Choose “Limit access to students in a particular class” and click to continue. 4. Examview Test Generator will now automatically open Test Manager if you haven’t created a class already. You can turn this option off by unchecking the box that says “Launch Examview Test Manager after publishing online test” 5. Click 6. **In order for students to be able to properly take the test, they must be given “Write” access to the file that you just saved. Follow these directions: 1. Open “My Computer” 2. Setting up your classes in Examview Test Manager 1. Select Examview Test Manager from the Programs menu. 2. Click

You may enter any numeric value for Student ID, but the student will need to know the ID that you’ve given them before taking the test. b. You may give the student an individual password using this window, or you may assign one to the entire class at a later time.

Adding assignments to your classes in Examview Test Manager 1. Click the icon on the toolbar

2. Follow the steps show on each of the next few windows and click to continue a. This section offers very good instructions for setting up your test. Simply follow the directions on each of the windows that show up. 3. Click on the last window to save your settings. 4. Save your class. 5. Follow these steps for each of the classes that will be accessing the test. Remember to make your passwords different for each class if you did not create individual student passwords.

Administering the test 1. Students should login and locate the test file on the P: drive where you saved it. 2. Double-clicking on the file will open Examview Test Player. 3. Students should enter their first and last name and their ID number (just like they were assigned in your Test Manager)

4. Click 5. Students should highlight the test they are wanting to take (if it is not highlighted already) and click

6. They should enter the password that you assigned them individually or the one you assigned to the whole class and click

7. Students should verify that the information shown is correct and click

8. Students can click their answer choice directly in the question, or with the round buttons on the right side of the screen. 9. To advance to the next question, students should click the forward arrow button in the lower right corner of the screen. 10. When the student has answered the last question, they should click the button at the bottom of the screen. 11. It will prompt them to make sure they are ready to end the test.

12. Depending on the options that you chose, they will either receive their percentage score or a copy of the test with the questions marked as to whether they answered correctly or incorrectly. 13. Students can now exit Examview Test Player

Viewing class results 1. Open the class file that you want to view in Examview Test Manager 2. Click the “Get results from LAN test” icon on the toolbar

3. The students’ scores should be listed under the assignment like a traditional gradebook. 4. To toggle between percentages and raw scores, click the “Toggle Points/Percentages” icon on the toolbar

5. Save your class to retain the results of the assignment 6. Under the “Report” menu on the toolbar, you can select various printable reports for each assignment
