2nd Grade ~ Miss Luft We are learning about Daniel in Bible class. Our verse is Psalm 138:3: “When I called you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.” We will recite this verse on Thursday. Spelling test 21 will also be on Thursday. Have a wonderful long weekend!

3rd Grade ~ Mrs. Finley This is a short week since we had no school yesterday in honor of President’s Day and we will have no school this Friday due to a teacher professional development day. Read on to see what we will be doing this week… The next several chapters in Bible class are about some of Jesus’ miracles. We are learning Psalm 121:1-8, but we are learning only two verses at a time. The new memory verse is Psalm 121:3, 4. “He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber; Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” The test over this verse will be next Tuesday, February 24th. We will practice Spelling List 21, but will NOT have a test over it because of the short week. In math we are working problems with parenthesis. We are working on our stories in English this week. We will learn about John Smith and Jamestown in history. Keep practicing and polishing those speech contest pieces! Work on volume, expression, and clarity. Annunciation is very important!

Final completion date is March 30. Our speeches are getting fine-tuned in preparation for the Peoria Speech Meet. We still need to practice them ever so often. Have a great week “in the Lord and in the power of His might.”
