Flexible Design

No switch point heating system is better than the heating element. Our heating elements are known for the unique shock absorbent design. The solid heating wire is wrapped with a fibreglass thread and stabilized in magnesium oxide. Jacket of high grade stainless steel and single ended water proof connection head. A proven design to withstand the extreme railway environment for decades.

The elements are mounted on the base of the rail by means of special clips made of corrosion-resistant chrome-nickel steel. The chosen surface pressure guarantees the optimum heat transfer and allows an unavoidable linear expansion of the heating element.

The design makes the heating element so flexible that it can be bent on site and no special care has to be taken during transportation.

Heating Core Advanced spinning machines make the unique inner core of the heating element. Elements with a proven lifetime of 20+ years.

Heating Switch point heating is about heating the rails and melting ice or snow between the switchrail and the stockrail before it accumulates and disrupts the switch mechanism. Melting the ice and snow is done from various attack points, using conducted heating as well as radiated heating. Stockrail heating, switchrail heating and switch mechanism / point lock heating.

Permanent solution to de-ice the overhead contact wire in critical areas like uphill lines, tunnel entrance, bridges and yards. The heating system is powered from the overhead wire.

Consists of an insulated constant wattage heater surrounded by a heat transfer material. The heating cable is in a triangular shape for easy mounting and excellent heat transfer.

Control cubicles to switch on/off heating when needed based on weather conditions and weather forecast. Supervision system to control multiple lines or regions.

Eliminate Costly Interruptions of Revenue Service due to the Effect of Ice/Frost Accumulation on the Contact Wire or Contact Rail Ice on the contact wire/rail causes tramlines and light rails to lose power and in extreme cases leads to the contact wire/catenary system being brought down. Arcing caused by the presence of ice leads to excessive wear to the pantograph conductor or pick-up shoe, all leading to traffic delays and service disruption. NIBE Railway Components offers the System BLUE WIRE for heating up the overhead wire and the system BLUE RAIL to prevent accumulation of ice on contact rail.

Smart Weather Control™ Energy Saving City Solution - Tramline Switch Point Heating Avoid point heating burning 6-7 month a year… Many days are cold but no ice or snow. System Blue Point controls the energy so heating will only be present when needed. Relevant weather information from strategically placed weather stations around the city is monitored. Weather forecast for the whole city is analyzed. If snow falls, or present relevant controllers get the message to heat. Information about errors and other conditions from each controller is communicated back to the relevant people.

Resistors

ALPHA Compact encapsulated Resistors Steady state power range from 30W – 10kW. Especially designed to withstand high pulse loads in applications like charging capacitor banks. Overload values can easily be 40 times the nominal value at 1 second and stay cool on the outside.

Water cooled Brake Resistors for Trams Resistors with high IP class that capture the brake energy which is re-used for heating. The resistors are compact, have low noise level and are intrinsically safe.

Application Service We offer our support by using computer simulation software and thermal models to predict the temperature of the various parts of the resistor. Thus securing the correct choice for the right component without oversizing, and speeding up your design. The thermal model depends on the size and weight of the resistor, wire size and length and filling material.

Floor Heating

Our flexible foil has been supplied to the Railway industry for decades, and they are approved for high-tech, weight-management applications. A space saving efficient alternative for comfort heating to be used as floor heating, frost protection, rear-view mirror heating and seat heaters. The flexible foil is supplied in various qualities such as PVC, Polyester, Silicon and Mica.

With our electric radiant heated floor solutions you can save space and weight by installing foil as floor heating. Power output from 160W – 535W/m2 and supply voltage 120-600VAC.

Couplers It is important to heat the couplers to prevent icing and freezing during winter conditions. Hydraulic oil and grease must be smooth. We have technical heating solutions, using flexible foils and cartridge heaters.

Windscreen wiper heaters A number of flexible foils assembled directly in the wiper and in the stand-by position for efficiency against icing and freezing of the wiper which makes it a safety application.

Compact heat exchanger with sealed outlets of double insulated cartridge heaters (27-36 pcs) for connection to the terminal line on trolley busses. Nom. power 29-40kW Nom. voltage 400-900 VDC

A low weight convector for heating of cars or driver cabin, assembled on wall. Meets requirements acc to EN 61373 and EN 60077-1.

Our air duct heaters are supplied with CE mark, and offer a wide range of airflows for fast warm-ups. They are easy to install if you choose to have them supplied with cables and customized electrical interface connectors according to plug and play principles. We are optimizing our air duct heaters with permanent weight management development.

Body side heating A wide range of solutions from light weight aluminium elements for radiant or self convection heating. Also tubular SS finned heaters. All heaters are tested according to EN 60077-1, NF F 13 209, and EN 61373. The heating elements can be supplied with temperature controls. All attached cables follow low-smoke demand DIN 5510-2. The elements may be supplied with single or double insulation.

Glycol Pre-Heater

A ready to be installed duct heater with temperature controls and fuses. Supplied with customized air temperature setting and fans. Our vestibule heaters are CE marked, and tested according to EN 61373 and EN 50155.

The heating elements are manufactured from mica insulation plates, stainless steel or aluminum frame and resistance wire. Can be supplied with temperature control solutions. Supply power up to 480V.

Flange heater mounted in pressure vessel, terminal box with built-in thermostat 20-45°C and temperature limiter. The pre-heater is supplied with 20 mm insulation and cover in stainless steel plate. Avaliable for water or oil; for various wattage and voltage and in different sizes according to customer requirements.

As a complement we also supply floor heating solutions, hydraulic heating, defrosting and air environment handling.

Driver’s cabin Within the group we supply a wide range of products such as floor heating, seat heating and air conditioning with temperature control for the best possible air environment for the driver. For additional comfort we offer utilities such as refrigerators and cooking plates, tested according to standard EN 60335-1.

We can supply a range of compact water storage heaters and different instantaneous water heating solutions for a fast and comfortable experience to the traveller.

High efficient, specially produced heaters for temperature control in waste water pipes and water tanks. Heaters supplied with vulcanized connections, thermostat, temperature controls (possibly electronic), according to customer requirements.

Water heating for toilets must be fast, efficient and safe. We supply flow-through heaters with temperature control and safety devices that correspond your expectations.

To prevent freezing during winter periods the waste water tank needs to be heated. We offer a range of heating solutions and qualities from immersion heaters to bifilar heaters with 100% watertight vulcanized electrical connections.

Cabinet Heaters

With elements in aluminium, you will benefit from the excellent heat conduction of the material, providing a fast and even heating profile. Backer aluminium elements are developed to improve elderly, traditional heating systems and we guarantee a noiseless operation of our products. We supply elements for radiant or convection heating, and they are avaliable with enlarged surfaces, allowing compact design; or surface treated to further improve the radiation efficiency. Aluminium plate heaters are offered based on customer requirements. Additionally we supply aluminium elements assembled on diffusion plates with temperature control. The elements are tested according to EN 60077-1. Supply power max 480V.

Traditional elements in diameters 6.3 mm up to 21mm. Lengths from 140mm to 8000mm. Supplied in different material such as EN 1.4301/1.4541/1.4404.

Cabinet heaters are used to prevent moisture and condensation in cabinets, electrical plants, electronic information boards, and automatic ticket units. Cabinet heaters are designed for optimal heat emission. The surface temperature of the heater is low, enabling a safe position near the electronic equipment. Cabinet heaters are furnished with temperature limiter and fulfil protection class IP55.

Flow-Through Heaters We produce a wide range of flow-through heaters for liquid heating and offer flexible design according to customer specifications. Different options, electrical connections and water coupling make it easy for you to find the perfect alternative for your application.

Plug Cartridges For protection of electric circuits against overloading and short circuits. Designed especially for railway carriages.

Electronic Control Systems We supply electronic control systems to meet the high demands of control and safety of the rolling stock heating devices. Our control systems are designed according to customer requirements and to ensure that safety and valid regulations are met.
