Maritime Transport There is one ferry and three barges at the Khuvsgul lake to operate between Khakh-Khatgal. But due to lack of cargo they are not used.
Joint Mongolian-Singaporean “Mongolian Ship Registry” company was established in 2003. Of the total of 1000 ships registered over 200 ships are operational under constant supervision and coordination. Revenue from this operation to state budget was US$750.000. Ship registry will be expanded in the future. Mongolian sea vessels will utilized.

Tourism sector ¾ By the end of 2005 Mongolia received 338715 tourists and it shows 12,7 percent increase from same period of 2004. By August 2006 number of tourists reached 269945 which is 14.9 percent more than compared to same period of last year. ¾ About 80 percent of the total number of incoming tourists visit during summer season. In the last few years, due to intensified and constant foreign marketing and advertisement, eased visa procedure and increased frequency of flights, number of tourist is steadily increasing by 12-15 percent each year.
Develop tourism in connection with transport strategy

To increase number of trains traveling between Ulaanbaatar and Beijing and ensure summer time train schedule regularity. To develop winter and domestic tourism through lowering cost of international flights, hotel and tourist camp rates. To increase use of tourist related road signs in major tourist destination areas, renovate and rehabilitate historical and cultural heritage sights and artifacts in connection with other sector development policies.
POSTAL DELIVERY NETWORK
INTERCITY POSTAL DELIVERY IS DONE BY PLANE TO 9 AIMAGS, BY TRAIN TO 5 AIMAGS, BY ROAD VEHICLES TO 4 AIMAGS AND BY MIXED MEANS OF TRANSPORT TO 2-5 TIMES PER WEEK.
