THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM ALLOWS YOUNG TALENT TO GAIN EXPOSURE TO A BUSINESS THAT IS TRULY UNIQUE AND TAILORED TO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND RECENT GRADUATES. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

The Summer Internship has been an ideal transition between study and a full-time position with a leading Australian development company. The program allowed me to gain an invaluable insight into the Mirvac integrated model through a range of seminars, projects, close interaction with interns from various parts of the business and direct work experience on the Brighton Lakes masterplanned community.

The internship program has allowed to me to gain invaluable experience in delivering housing for the community, which has been an extremely rewarding experience. I am constantly learning new things everyday through the constant support of senior management and the development team.

Our Apartments team strive to create exceptional living environments in the best locations. Across the Summer Internship Program, Interns will gain exposure to developments with a mixed-use element

I joined Mirvac in 2000 on their development graduate program and spent 12 months learning about the organisation before settling into the development team as an Assistant Development Manager. I have progressed to become a Development Director and am constantly learning every day. INDUSTRIAL MIRVAC’S UNIQUE INTEGRATED MODEL MEANS THAT WE CAN TAILOR TURNKEY SOLUTIONS FOR BUSINESSES TO ENSURE SEAMLESS HANDOVER AND CONTINUITY. Mirvac has worked with some of Australia’s leading industries to create new, efficient work places that have allowed them to achieve their business goals. Recently Mirvac delivered one of the largest industrial projects ever undertaken in Australia, a $250 million 132,000sqm distribution centre for Woolworths at Hoxton Park. One of Australia’s largest industrial developments this complex project - designed, managed and constructed by Mirvac - was delivered ahead of time and exceeded customer expectation. The industrial division focuses on developing and owning high quality facilities in core industrial locations. Our focus is on delivering flexible business solutions that cater for the changing needs of our customers. The division looks to unlock and create value by transforming older style industrial precincts through repositioning and re-zoning to higher and better uses. Our recent major projects include Hoxton Distribution Park, Nexus Industry Park and Calibre at Eastern Creek.

CONSTRUCTION MIRVAC CONSTRUCTION IS ONE OF AUSTRALIA’S LEADING CONSTRUCTION BUSINESSES AND EMPLOYS MORE THAN 450 HIGHLY SKILLED PROFESSIONALS, PROVIDING CONSTRUCTION SERVICES ACROSS ALL ASSET CLASS IN WHICH MIRVAC OPERATES.

The Mirvac summer internship gave an insightful look into how the industry operates. I was exposed to different aspects of construction; from cost planning to working with subcontractors.

As a Summer Intern working for Mirvac Construction you will be exposed to a variety of tasks and responsibilities including: >> Project Planning and Programming >> Cost Planning >> Project Management >> Design Management >> Site Management >> HSE Management

Interns will be offered the opportunity to work in either the residential or commercial business through being allocated to a project throughout the duration of the program. The construction program allows you to gain both extensive knowledge and hands on experience within the construction industry, whether you are based in head office or on site on a live project.

Coming through the Mirvac Internship program was a fantastic and enjoyable experience. It offered challenges that required excessive team work and personal commitment to overcome as well as opportunities to meet people within the business that would not have been provided otherwise, and the chance to create extensive networking within the company. Being part of the Mirvac Internship was an incredibly rewarding experience, full of learning and great memories for which I am so grateful. Mirvac’s program enhanced my architectural knowledge and strengthened my leadership skills through training, development, meetings with the CEO and the ability to work closely with the most senior Directors - this program has played a key role in my professional development.

The program is designed to immerse the intern in the various teams within the Sales and Marketing Department, allowing them to explore what areas of the business, and of the practice of sales and marketing, that are of most interest to them in their future career development.

During my time as an Investment Analyst in Mirvac’s Retail division, I received great support from not only my direct team, but also senior management. This provided me with both the knowledge and skills that allowed me to contribute to meaningful tasks in a confident and positive way. I gained invaluable experience during my tenure in the program and it gave me a kick-start into the dynamic and evolving business that is Property. MIRVAC RETAIL OWNS AND MANAGES A DYNAMIC AND BOUTIQUE PORTFOLIO OF SHOPPING CENTRES ACROSS AUSTRALIA’S EASTERN SEABOARD. THE RECENT ACQUISITION OF EAST VILLAGE AND THE OPENING OF THE TRAMSHEDS AT HAROLD PARK WITHIN URBAN SYDNEY HAS INCREASED THE TOTAL VALUE OF THE PORTFOLIO TO ABOVE $2 BILLION, WITH OVER $2.4 BILLION UNDER MANAGEMENT.

As a summer intern you will get exposure to the Mirvac Retail business through a wide variety of challenging experiences, either at our Sydney head office or located at one of the retail locations.

HSE AND SUSTAINABILITY Mirvac has committed to embedding sustainability into its culture through the Sustainability Strategy, This Changes Everything. The Sustainability team at Mirvac work to advance the strategy with all business units to see the delivery of community and environmental benefits of all assets and projects.

Similarly, Mirvac’s HSE team works with the group to develop and deliver the HSE strategy for Mirvac in consultation with all areas of the business. The team helps deliver the three key HSE strategic themes, that being: HSE compliance, HSE management systems and safety culture.

As a Summer Intern working in either division, your responsibilities could involve working on the sustainable operations of our buildings, or developing and implementing the sustainability or HSE strategy from the group level. Past interns have worked on a variety of projects including biodiversity research, our Reconciliation Action Plan, and Green Star initiatives.

The Mirvac Summer Internship Program was an invaluable experience for my own personal growth and development. I was given real individual responsibilities, cross functional exposure and the opportunity to learn from professionals within the property industry. Working within the Sustainability division gave me the opportunity to drive positive environmental impacts through engineering efficiency, whilst adding economic value to the business. The program was the perfect jump-start to a career in Sustainability.

My internship in Group Sustainability at Mirvac gave me the opportunity to work across multiple projects and implement group-wide strategy. I was directed by leading industry professionals and worked with a team of supportive, aspirational people. As an intern, I had the chance to help build sustainability within our corporate environment, while also being part of a larger movement that is driving positive change in the development industry.

In addition to your rotations, you will have access to broader Group activities, including the chance to contribute to the community through our volunteering program, take part in exciting social events and visit and learn more about our development sites and investment properties on our site tour.

Further, Mirvac’s finance team is encouraged to collaborate and innovate across the organisation and therefore offering diverse opportunities for personal development. The Mirvac environment not only offers the opportunity to progress an individual’s professional development it also provides the opportunity to broaden their business and commercial perspective.

An allocated mentor will provide a great support system to help you be at your best and gain the most out of your time at Mirvac. Finance Internships are on offer to undergraduate students in their penultimate year of a Business, Commerce, Accounting or Finance related degree.
