FW Murphy has been designing and manufacturing top-quality instrumentation and control devices for more than 70 years. A leader in design and technology, Murphy provides you with proven products and applications that meet the growing demands of your operations. And now, the unparalleled experience and expertise of Murphy has gone into the design of our latest innovation — the M2 Wireless™ Monitoring System. Wireless technology is reshaping the landscape of business and industry. It’s changing the way we talk to each other, the way our computers talk to each other, and now it’s changing the way your compressor skid communicates with the control panel. Built from the ground up to address the issues that have plagued earlier wireless monitoring systems — and specifically engineered for the harsh conditions of compressor skids — you can rest assured that the M2 Wireless Monitoring System will be reliable, durable, and easy to use.

N O Ê W I R E S ? AnÊ innovativeÊ newÊ platformÊ connectingÊ yourÊ instrumentsÊ andÊ endÊ devices. The M2 Wireless Monitoring System consists of a gateway module and combination of remotes connected directly to end devices. No special wires or conduit are required. The M2 Wireless gateway is designed for use within a weatherproof enclosure only. The remotes are designed for use in both indoor and outdoor environments. Remote cases have a CSA-approved enclosure for indoor and outdoor use.

Wireless monitoring technology specifically designed to handle the challenging conditions of your compressor skids. Wireless technology has been around the oil and gas industry for a while. But other wireless systems designed for the mass markets have been plagued with problems. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by the close proximity of the engine, harsh environmental conditions and other factors render earlier systems unreliable. Those systems are not engineered to perform on a compressor skid ... the M2 Wireless Monitoring System from Murphy is. Outsmarting EMI The M2 Wireless Monitoring System overcomes EMI by engineering the signal to travel in smaller packets — and over shorter distances — ensuring signal integrity and near-real-time throughput of data from the sensor to the gateway. Because we didn’t set out to make a one-size-fits-all system, the M2 wireless signal is boosted over the short distances common on compressor skids so that real-time signal integrity is never interrupted. Designed for a rugged world Everything on your compressor skid has to be built to withstand the harshest conditions Mother Nature can dish out. The M2 Wireless Monitoring System is no exception. It’s engineered to survive and perform in West Texas heat, Alaskan winters, and everything in between.

M2 Wireless™ Monitoring System When integrated with a control panel, the M2 Wireless Monitoring System provides a unique alternative to wiring and conduit connections throughout the entire skid package. Are you ready to stop measuring conduit and wire length? Are you ready to stop counting the endless connections, elbows, junction boxes? Utilizing our panel manufacturing plant, Control Systems & Services (CS&S) can pre-configure an integrated control panel with the wireless system. The wireless remotes can be pre-assembled with the end-devices needed for the specific job. With a single control panel, the user gets end-devices, wireless remotes, and a fully-configured system — basically a plug-and-play wireless solution. Install the panel. Install the devices. You’re done.

N O Ê W A S T E . CutÊ costsÊ withÊ theÊ M2Ê Wirelessª Ê MonitoringÊ System. The M2 Wireless Monitoring System saves you money by cutting material costs — wiring, conduit, etc. — and drastically reducing labor costs associated with installation and maintenance. It’s hard to imagine a wireless system being more cost-effective than a hard-wired system. But that’s exactly what you get with the M2 Wireless Monitoring System. Less hardware means fewer wires to short out, less chance of materials degrading over time, and a dramatically simplified installation. And because the system is more reliable, the biggest savings come from reducing the incidence of costly errors.
