Why is renewable energy so attractive? • The answer is simple: it will enable us to diversify our energy sources and reduce our excessive dependence on gas, coal and oil. It is thus the surest means we have of both reducing emissions and improving the security of our energy supply.
• In addition, at a time of economic uncertainty, the renewable energy technology industry is one which keeps on growing, providing jobs and developing new technologies, and helps Europe to maintain its place at the forefront of global industrial innovation.
