Summary The Modern Warrior Alliance is an association of like minded martial arts professionals who expouse street self defence and realistic combat approaches together with martial arts development and ethics. This third annual international gathering will allow the core members, their students and other interested parties to attend, train, share and gain recognition for skills and capabilities.

Trainer Profiles GM Yaron Hanover, 9th Dan

After receiving a 9th dan in Hisardut under his father Dennis Hanover, Yaron has gone on to create Ultimate Krav Maga in Israel, focusing on Antiterrorism, Military training, and civilian self protection. As a Master Sergent and member of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) Special Forces he specialised in Counterterrorism, firearms and sniper tactics, paramedics and Krav Maga instruction. While Senior Instructor in Dennis Survival Jiujitsu he ran 7 national training centers in Israel and was in charge of teaching their instructors. Recently with the Hanover Tool Box Company he has produced self defence tools and implements for civilian self defence usage like the Gotcha Cap and others. His titles include Israeli Judo Champion, Israeli Full Contact Karate Champion, and has been inducted into the South African Full Contact Karate Instructors Hall of Fame.

GM Guy Rafaeli

Guy Rafaeli is the founder and Grand Master of ISRAEL COMBAT SYSTEM (ICS). With Polish roots Rafaeli grew up in a family of great military tradition. His first teacher was the legendary creator of ICS Dennis Hanover and ranked among his closest disciples. He also trained under Mas Oyama - creator of Kyokushin Karate. He was the first to bring Filipino Martial Arts to Israel, and today he is the Chief Instructor ARNIS ISRAEL. He holds many black belts, a few include Kali, Arnis, Jiu Jitsu, Karate, and he is a certified firearms instructor in IMI - Israeli Military Industry, and a graduate of the WINGATE INSTITUTE. His training company ICS provides training in Israel and around the world. Also known as the “Knife Guy” he is also the designer of the Spyderco Warrior knife used by Special Forces around the world.

Master Marcin Michalik-Lipka

Marcin Michalik-Lipka is co-founder of Ultimate Krav Maga Federation in Israel, official representative of I.C.S in Poland, Chief Instructor UKMW Poland. Since childhood, he has trained various martial arts. His background includes Kyokushin Karate, boxing, wrestling, Jeet Kune Do and more. One of the pioneers of Krav Maga in Poland, his great passion turned out to be Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under the guidance of Radek Turek - and Muay Thai; he is a close student of Andrei Molchanou (9-times World Champion). His first knife fighting teacher was a veteran of the Russian Spetsnaz, Major Alexander Kisten. He also credits Master Guy Rafaeli as his knife fighting teacher. Marcin is a veteran of Israeli special units and was the official representative of Israeli Combat Systems in Poland.

Dr Gavriel Schneider, 7th Dan

Gendai Ryu Soke Gavriel Schneider began martial arts in the early 1980s with Shotokan and then Goju Ryu Karate. Then Koga Ryu Ninjitsu, Taekwon Do and Gendai Ryu. He represented South Africa in the Taekwondo World Cup in 1997. In 1996, he became a live-in student of Grandmaster Dennis Hanover, trained and taught in the main school in Herzliya Israel, receiving 1st Dan in DSJJ / Hisardut in the middle of 1996 and 2nd Dan at the end of the same year. Gavriel also spent time at Wingate and trained Military Krav Maga. He has intensive firearms training and extensive involvement in the security, law enforcement and military training sectors. Gavriel was inducted into the South African Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2004, graded 6th Dan directly by GM Dennis Hanover in 2005 and inducted into the Israeli Museum of Martial Arts History in 2010.

Trainer Profiles Sensei Noah Greenstone, 6th Dan

Noah Greenstone began martial arts in 1973, training Danzan Ryu Jujutsu and Judo in the USA. After receiving a black belt he trained at the Inosanto Academy in Los Angeles where he started a lifelong journey in Filipino Weaponry. His instructors include notable US martial artists like Professor Michael Belzer, Cliff Stewart, Larry Hartsell, Hawkins Cheung, Professor Wally Jay, Shihan Sig Kufferath and others. He spent the 1990s in Japan, training under the 18th and 19th head masters of an ancient Japanese Samurai system where he extensively trained Jujutsu, Kenjutsu, Iaijutsu, Bojutsu and Naginata. He also trained in Kobe with Japanese Judo legend Yasuhiro Yamashita. He has competed seven times in the Zen Nippon Sogo Kobudo Renmei Embu Taikai sponsored by the Japanese government at key Japanese martial arts venues - as well as Local, State and National level competitions in the US.

Sensei Gershon Ben Keren, 5th Dan

Gershon received his Krav Maga training in Israel and Europe and was tested for his Black Belts in Israel where he also received his teaching certification. He has been trained by some of the IDF’s (Israeli Defense Forces) most experienced and respected Krav Maga instructors including Dennis and Guy Hanover (Dennis Hisardut), Haim Gidon (Israeli Krav Maga Association), Eyal Yanilov (Krav Maga Global), Avi Moyal (International Krav Maga Federation) etc. In December 2011 he was inducted into the “Museum of Israeli Martial Arts” at the Israeli Martial Arts Center in Herzilya, Israel He has over 20 years experience teaching Reality Based Self Defense and “Close Combat” to Special Forces Operatives, Law Enforcement Operatives, Military Personnel and civilians. Gershon is the author of the critically acclaimed Krav Maga - Real World Solutions to Real World Violence published by Tuttle Press (2015) and the popular Krav Maga Blog; a weekly weblog that looks at personal safety, self-protection, self-defense, as well as Krav Maga.

Sensei Mac McGuire, 5th Dan

Mac holds a 5th Dan, a 2nd, and 1st Dans in various martial arts, as well as having graded 4th Dan directly under the Soke of Hisardut in Israel, Denis Hanover. Mac has over 20 years of Operational Specialised Security Experience having served in both the South African Military and the South African Police Service, he is now in the Private Sector specialising in Israel and other third world environments. Mac started competing in shooting competitions at age 13. He is Certified as a firearms Councillor by the International Firearms Training Academy and is a Tactical Range officer and instructor for various firearms. A registered and active Sport Shooter and Dedicated Hunter, Mac is the current serving President of the Professional Firearms Training Council of South Africa. He has been utilised as a specialist instructor to various Close Protection teams including Israeli Royalty, Special Forces and several high profile Executive Protection Details.

Persons not adhering may be asked to leave the event and will not receive any refund. All attendees must have valid medical clearance before being allowed to participate.
