Obtaining All GPM Mission products • Must be a registered PPS user – Register at URL: http://registration.pps.eosdis.nasa.gov – Required information • Valid, reachable email • Affiliation • GPM product interest – Will receive an email to the registered address and must then validate
• Registered email address is used as username AND password for both the query and search interface – STORM: http://storm.pps.eosdis.nasa.gov – ftp location: arthurhou.pps.eosdis.nasa.gov
• All products including gridded text products are online and available through STORM or FTP • FTP access is really a special anonymous ftp implementation. – For Linux and Mac it is possible to make a .netrc entry – A .netrc entry will facilitate downloading data via scripts without requiring manual entry of username and password. Reprocessing Plans for GPM •
Currently the first “fully GPM” reprocessing of all mission data scheduled for September 28, 2015.
•
V04A will be the data product version for reprocessed data – Should see fewer letter version changes – JPST needs to approve whether a “changed” algorithm allowed to be inserted (this one of the ways letters change) – JPST determines whether a change is big enough to require reprocessing of the entire mission data stream back to March 2014
•
Algorithm development teams currently working on V04
•
JAXA has provided 1 year of changed 1B Ku/Ka which adjusts the calibration of Ku and Ka
•
L2 Radar development team working with this data
•
End of May stable L2 radar data to combined team
•
End of June stable combined data to radiometer team to build the databases
•
August GPM intercalibrated tables for partner 1C products (X-cal team)
•
August V04 data available for analysis and validation
•
Once GPROF algorithms validated for GPM period will go back and reprocess partner radiometer data to January 1998 using GPM algorithms
•
IMERG reprocessing starts 3 months AFTER the GPM mission era reprocessing starts
