From The Director's Chair The Gold Coast Arts Center is a regional hub for arts education and performance that includes all the visual and performing arts like Painting, Sculpture, Music, Dance, Dramatics, Film, Ceramics, Fencing, Chess and even Robotics, among its many offerings. Accessible by train, car, and bus in the heart of downtown Great Neck, NY, the Arts Center is enjoyed by thousands of people in the communities of Long Island and New York every day of the year. As a notfor-profit (501 c 3) organization, we can and do present the best programs and the most qualified teachers in special workshops and classes. They are supported by the most dedicated staff, and overseen by a Board of Directors who represent the leading citizens in our community, a cross section of business people, teachers, professionals, artists and public officials. Our Advisory Board boasts the names of important and significant members of the international Arts community. We partner with the Town of North Hempstead to offer you a beautiful, modern and well-kept facility with studios, classrooms, a theatre, a gallery, and a public meeting space for special events. All this is available to you and your family so that you can enjoy gallery exhibits, live performances, programs of all kinds, and our weekly film series, presented in Great Neck and Port Washington as the Furman Film Series and as the Elliman Film Series, thanks to a sustaining sponsorship from Douglas Elliman. We want to ensure that your family’s journey through the Arts is enriching, smooth and easily accessible. As you read through our course offerings, you should know that our work is the result of training and affiliations we have achieved with the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and the National Gallery of Art; Long Island University; and a variety of school districts in the region. On staff are individuals who research, attend seminars, partner with others in the arts education field and bring home the best and latest information from which our teachers and students can benefit. We are here to promote and support the arts through education, exhibition, performance and outreach. We are here for YOU! We encourage you to become a member and join us as we begin our 23rd season. Class tuition and ticket sales account for only a portion of our annual budget. Please consider making a donation and watch us grow! Invest in the Arts Center and everyone benefits!

So give to the only multi arts center in Nassau County -- the Gold Coast Arts Center! Thank you. Sincerely,

Students will engage in the Engineering/Design process, as they modify their robots for new challenges. The robotics program is being run by Extreme STEAM Science Kids established by the Park Shore Country Day Camp located in Dix Hills, Long Island. Our curriculum has been created by Julian Aptowitz, a high school physics teacher for over 20 years with a Masters degree in Education Technology, as well as a high school robotics coach. Extreme STEAM Science Kids provides programs in robotics, engineering and Life, Physical and Earth Science. Through curriculum that meets the next generation science standards, elementary students will be engaged in authentic scientific experimentation, as well as become excited and energized to develop the skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century. The class is designed for students with no prior programming or robotics experience. INTRODUCTION FR16.1 MONDAY 4:45-5:45PM AGES 7+ 10 Sessions.
