Safety Training Aerial Work Platform (AWP) Operator Training Telehandler Operator Training Train The Trainer

General Information Types of Training Offered JLG offers training for JLG aerial work platforms (AWPs), also known as mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) and telehandlers. Training is delivered three ways: 

Instructor Led - Traditional classroom instruction where the instructor and participants are in the same location.



E-Learning - Instruction delivered electronically without an instructor and is usually self-paced.



Online - Instruction delivered electronically but facilitated by an online instructor. The instructor and participants are not in the same location. Online training is usually scheduled with the pace set by the instructor.

Tuition JLG charges tuition for each course and varies by course location, training type, and training method. Prices are available in the training schedule for your region or from your JLG training contact. Back To Top

Course Enrollment and Requests To enroll in a scheduled instructor-led training:  

For North America, fill out the JLG Enrollment Form and fax it to the number listed on the form. For all other regions, click here for your region's contact information.

To enroll in an e-learning course, on the left side of your screen find the box labeled "Program Management" and select "Learning Plan" then "Program Overview" for a list of available courses. Prerequisites Prerequisites ensure that you have the skills and knowledge needed to successfully complete a class. JLG highly recommends completing any prerequisites identified prior to enrolling in a class. Participants without the required skills and knowledge may not pass the class. Back To Top

Customer Responsibilities For courses conducted at JLG Training Centers, customers are responsible for the following: - All hotel reservations and costs - All transportation arrangements and costs - Tuition fees - Meals (lunch is provided) - Proper attire Back To Top

Cancellation Policy Customer Cancellations: Cancellations must be done at least 14 days prior to the scheduled course. Failure to do so will result in a fee of $150 per person in addition to any actual expenses accrued. Course Cancellations: Every reasonable attempt will be made to conduct scheduled courses. However, in the event a course must be cancelled, customers will be notified 14 days prior to the course start date whenever possible. Service Training General Course Information Service training provides participants with an understanding of the construction, operation, and maintenance of JLG equipment. Participants that complete JLG's service training gain the knowledge needed to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on specific JLG equipment. JLG's service training is available as traditional classroom training and in some cases self-paced e-learning programs. All service training includes hands-on exercises designed to reinforce the training material. Participants must achieve a score of 80% or better to pass the course. Participants in all JLG service training classes are provided with the JLG Service Training Manual and the relevant hydraulic and electrical schematics for the model(s) covered in each course. These documents, along with the Service and Maintenance Manual, can be used to service and troubleshoot JLG equipment. Basic Hydraulic Course The Basic Hydraulics course is a ten-module e-learning program. The course covers basic hydraulic theories and principles, hydraulic schematic symbols, and the basic operation of hydraulic components. This course is only available in English at this time. Basic Electricity Course The Basic Electricity course is a seven-module e-learning program. The course covers basic electrical theory and princples, electrical schematic symbols, and the basic operation of electrical components. This course is only available in English at this time. Digital Multimeter Principles Course The Digital Multimeter Principles course is a one-module e-learning program. The course covers how to properly use a digital multimeter to troubleshoot electrical problems. Specifically, this course covers how to properly set the meter to read voltage, resistance, continuity, and current. This course is only available in English at this time. Technician Fundamentals Training The Technician Fundamentals Training course covers hydraulic and electrical schematic symbols, JLG schematics, hydraulic pressure checks, using a digital multimeter, and using the JLG analyzer. Boom Lift Service Training Boom Lift Service Training covers engine-powered straight and articulating boom lifts. This class covers machine operational characteristics, hydraulic and electrical systems, canbus system, JLG analyzer, calibrations, and troubleshooting basic hydraulic and electrical systems.
