United We Stitch

Message from Our President You know the saying "If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans". I sure gave Him an opportunity for a little chuckle this summer. Things definitely haven’t gone as planned in my world these past several weeks. I missed our June meeting because my husband had back surgery in Atlanta. We anticipated a couple of weeks of rehab but it turned into more than a month of recovery which caused me to miss the July meeting as well. My husband is on the mend; we are finally home and working on physical therapy. We are very happy and grateful for his progress which is a tremendous relief. And many thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. Now it's time to get back to normal which means a little time spent quilting. The August meeting promises to be full of good information and inspiration from some of my favorite people – members of our own guild!! I love it when we have an opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and the topic this month is one of my favorite – color. You can’t be a quilter without a love of color! So if the good Lord’s willing and the creek don’t (sic) rise, I can’t wait to see all of you on the 21st. Kay Quote for the Month

I’ve spent most of my life making quilts. The rest I’ve just wasted. ~Author Unknown~ Foothills Quilters Guild ∙ PO Box 3052 ∙ Shelby, NC 28152
