Helpful Notes • Only one active Temporary Tag is allowed per VIN • Once a Temporary Tag is Issued in SecureETag it must be expired before a new Tag can be issued. (While some tags expire automatically, some must be Hard Expired.) • Once a Temporary Tag is Issued, information on the purchaser, vehicle description, purchase date, etc. cannot be modified. The Tag must be Expired first and then Issue a new Temporary Tag. • The Temporary Tag becomes ACTIVE once you click on the button to “Issue Tag Now” – even though you may not have printed it yet. If you find a mistake or error, you’ll have to expire the tag and reissue as needed.

Suggestions 1.
Tear off the security seal first and have it in front of you when you log on to the SecureETag website to issue a tag.
2.
Check each screen to be sure you’ve entered correct information before going any further.
3.
Leave your printer window open until you have successfully printed the paper tag – because once you close out, you won’t be able to print again.
4.
Check the tag for any errors before giving it to the customer. (Tag expiration date must match the expiration date written on the seal and tag number must match the number on the seal.)
