1. Mayukh Hazarika Born to the famous and illustrious family of several gifted artistes and doyens of Assam’s musical world - the Hazarika gharana - Mayukh Hazarika is a playback singer and music director. He is the front man of the Delhi based band Mayukh Hazarika and the Brahmaputra Balladeers. He is the son of legendary Assamese musician duo Jayanta Hazarika and Manisha Hazarika and nephew of Dr Bhupen Hazarika. Hazarika embodies his father’s cherubic voice, but has skillfully managed to create his own signature style overtime. On November 8, 2014, Hazarika launched his band 'Mayukh Hazarika and the Brahmaputra Balladeers'. They term their band as genre-free, whilst one can sense a blend of folk-blues, rock and funk. 2. Rewben Mashangva Rewben is the principal exponent of "HAO MUSIC". He has not only rediscovered and reinvented the variegated rich folk traditions of the Tangkhuls but also refashioned tribal musical instruments to suit the Western tonal scale. Rewben is also credited for the amplification and customizing of the Tingtelia, a fiddle like traditional stringed instrument. Rewben experimented for almost a decade with the original Tingtelia so as to enable him to create a distinct sound that goes harmoniously smooth with the modern acoustic and electric guitar and harmonica.

3. Rida & the Musical Folks – Meghalaya The self description of the band speaks for itself: "We folks are in search of the ideal way to create a meaningful experience while retaining a high degree of artistic integrity. The stories we share are open-ended, our interaction spontaneous; giving us an infinite range of expression. With ‘Musical Nature’ we are able to work around traditional folk sounds and blend it with contemporary elements to create our musical style. All our instruments except for the acoustic guitar are traditional and hand crafted by the musicians themselves. These instruments are crude and raw in its structure and sound and this is one thing we would like to retain." 4.
