The D.A.C. team consists of highly experienced, qualified personnel with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget for our clients on both short and long term projects. We are flexible, and work with our clients to ensure we are exceeding their expectation which has led to the establishment of long term business relationships with major companies. Our fully equipped workshop is conveniently located on the Peak Downs highway which reduces equipment cartage costs and minimises downtime for our customers. Our workshop also encompasses a large lay down area which can safely and securely accommodate equipment until the required work is completed. D.A.C. maintains a fleet of mobile service vehicles which are mine site compliant and carry extensive tooling. Due to our strong work ethic, commitment to safety and solid reputation D.A.C. has have grown our client base and expanded the services we offer. D.A.C. has a fully equipped workshop which is located at the top of the Eton Range, 60 Km West of Mackay. This location saves on transport costs, and the associated risks of carrying loads down the notorious Eton range, it also boasts a large laydown area to ensure machinery can be stored in a safe and secure location.

Systems / Procedures:

MYOB is used for preparing BAS, Payroll and Accounts Payable / Receivable and used for invoicing. Microsoft Office Suite: Word for communications of internal and external correspondence, meeting minutes, company newsletters, contracts and proposals, Safe work method statements, procedures, processes and company policies etc. Outlook is utilised for all email correspondence, calendar function for meeting notifications, appointments, tasks and scheduling of equipment maintenance, safety audits as well as tracking individual staff competencies through our Matrix to ensure they are fully compliant with inductions and any other statutory industry requirements. Excel spread sheets for tracking competencies / matrix and also compiling schedules of rates for projects and proposals. Equipment registers serial numbers etc. PowerPoint media for the customisation of Flowcharts, Procedures, Work Instructions, Proposals.

DAC employs more than 30 staff, with 25 of these being trade qualified fitters, auto electricians and boiler makers. This combined with our conveniently located workshop means we have the capability and expertise to carry out a variety of repairs and rebuilds on machinery and components. D.A.C. has the capacity to scale up our work force as required by our clients to accommodate any contract. D.A.C Mining Services is committed to the professional and personal development of our staff, especially for our apprentices & upcoming trade’s people. We recognise a core component to the continued success of our business can only be achieved by investing in the ongoing development of our people. We develop the management and technical skills of our staff through continuous improvement processes, ensuring we portray a customer service image that reflects our business and D.A.C values. Safety Training and current skills are mapped to ensure adequate numbers of skilled staff are inducted at a variety of sites. Specific training needs are identified through GAP analysis processes and regular reviews which are recorded for future reference.

D.A.C Mining Services is not restricted by any boundaries and has the capability and capacity to provide our services throughout Australia. We are also currently looking to expand our services to the International market, due to current customer expressions of interest.

D.A.C Mining Services has the capacity to work on various projects in our workshop up to $2M at any one time. The typical value of projects undertaken in the workshop range from $10k to $800K. In the field we have the capacity to supply up to 100 + trades people depending on the number of projects we are engaged in, which equates to a capacity of approximately $2M per month.

Key Personnel Drew Callander Director Owner and founder of the company, Drew, started in the industry as an apprentice diesel fitter and progressed to Workshop Maintenance Supervisor. With his skills in maintenance planning and scheduling and seeing a demand in the industry for quality fitters, he shifted his focus to starting a company that supplied a quality service with quality people. Drew has 22 years of industry experience & has attained CERT III – Automotive (Mechanical Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment) Other areas of Drew’s responsibility are:    

Neville Kock Business Development Manager Neville joined the D.A.C Mining Services team in 2013, with more than 25 years’ experience in a variety of sectors in the maintenance & mining industries both in Australia & overseas. Neville has a consultative approach with his clients to maximise results and obtain the best possible solutions to their requirements. Neville holds a Certificate IV in Front Line Management and has become an integral member of the D.A.C team due to his professionalism, work ethics and his ability to communicate and build strong rapports with clients. Neville maintains high standards of quality and is committed to ensuring the provision of customer service remains one of the highest priorities for our business.

Lisa Callander Field Coordinator With a background in HR & Training / Safety Management, Lisa has a high level of understanding of the mining Industry. Lisa can engage projects / contracts with confidence as well as liaise with clients to determine their needs & requirements & hand picks trades people to ensure the best skill sets are on offer. Lisa can tailor individual packages to suit any client for any specific contract whether short or long term.

Denise Grundy HR & Accounts Payable Denise joined D.A.C in 2011, bringing with her a multitude of skills that have enabled D.A.C Mining Services to maintain high standards of Workplace Health & Safety Systems, Quality & Document Control, as well as taking control of the accounts payable & building strong relationships with our supply chain. Denise holds a current Certificate IV WHS & work place rehabilitation, and is the Workplace Health & Safety Representative for the company. Denise is also responsible for the upkeep of training records & ensuring staff inductions for sites are maintained to ensure we are fully compliant to work on various sites.

Loretta Murray Payroll & Accounts Receivable With a strong background in accounting, Loretta brings to the team the experience & knowledge to ensure all accounts are processed with the utmost accuracy. Loretta ensures all processing of Payroll, GST / BAS Statement Preparation and Lodgment, Superannuation, Bank Reconciliations, Budgeting, Reconciling and Reporting to Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Forecasting are kept up to date. Loretta is also responsible for the account receivable department building a strong relationship with all our clients.
