Gone Digital Your Habitat affiliate has officially entered the 21st Century! As the number of homes and families has grown, so has the sheer volume of paperwork that must be filed and stored. When the subject of purchasing another fireproof filing cabinet came up recently, it gave us an opportunity to maybe put that money to a better use.

For much less than the cost of another cabinet, we obtained a system of scanning and storing the vast majority of our stored documents in digital format. We now enjoy faster, easier access while retaining the security and confidentiality required.

Four Families Graduate from Financial Peace University In late October, all four of our newly selected families completed Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. Marnye Dickerson, Olga Hernandez, Martin Perez and Rosa Cabrera, and Sotero and Maria Rodriguez all received completion certificates and lifetime memberships to this important resource. This class teaches how to keep track of spending, budgeting for the future, how to get a good deal, how to resist marketing ploys, and many other useful subjects which will contribute to the financial success of our newest homeowners. (My apologies to Martin, Rosa, Sotero and Maria for not being able to get them into a photo!) Bill Eslick with Marnye and Olga.

Thank you to Tommy Gwinn, Walt Pluznick and Ed Vela for helping to lead this project.

We think we know who some of those persons are, and have included their names in the list of contributors. There may be others who are unknown to us.
