Depoe Bay may have only 1100 fulltime residents, but it still knows how to put on a party. April brings the Classic Wooden Boat Show, Crab Feed, and Ducky Derby. The Fleet of Flowers is on Memorial Day, and the annual salmon bake is in September. Depoe Bay claims to have the world’s smallest navigable harbor. Charter fishing and whale-watching boats can be on the open sea in just minutes. A sea wall runs almost the full length of town and is known for the “spouting horns,” rock formations that turn crashing waves into plumes of water on stormy days. Winter storm-watching in this town is very popular.
131.2 - Cape Foulweather Panoramic views but no facilities. Captain James Cook named the promontory in 1778 on a day of particularly inclement weather. Winds can reach 100 mph during storms. A gift shop on the north side is a real cliffhanger called The Lookout Observatory.

This was once Hwy 101 itself, but the roadway is now a one-way (southbound) scenic drive with spectacular views between here and Cape Foulweather. About 1/10 mile along this road is Rocky Creek Bridge. This McCullough-designed, reinforced-concrete bridge was built in 1927, and the concrete has recently been treated to prolong its life.
