A “city” resident lives within the City limits of Vero Beach and/or owns real estate in the corporate limits of the City of Vero Beach.  A “non-city” resident lives within Indian River County.  Proof of residency: Voter Registration, tax receipt, electric bill (however, some non-city residents pay City of Vero Beach utilities)  Are you covered? The City of Vero Beach does not carry medical or accident insurance for its participants. The cost would make fees prohibitive. Please review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you & your family have proper coverage.  Gift Certificates are also available.  Beach wheelchairs are available free of charge during guarded hours at our beaches. Call 234-8375.  Sales tax will be added to fees, where applicable.  Our facilities and playgrounds are substance free recreation complexes. The Recreation Department has rental facilities available for your next party, meeting, or any type of function. We offer the Vero Beach Community Center and Leisure Square Pool & Sports facilities, as well as the Riverhouse and Bethel Creek House, both of which are located on the Indian River. We also offer use of parks and our outside facilities, the Grand and Picnic Pavilions, located at Riverside Park. For whatever your occasion or program, we have the space to accommodate your group! This facility can be divided into three separate rooms according to size needed. The maximum capacity is 293 theatre style seating, or 240 seated at tables with room for a dance floor area. Located at Leisure Square * 3705 16th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960 * (772) 770-3775 Centerstage Acrobatic Complex is a 4,500 square foot gymnastics facility in Vero Beach offering recreational and performing arts classes for boys and girls ages walking to teen. All gymnastics staff have been trained and are under the direction of USA Gymnastics National Safety Instructors. The City Recreation Department’s philosophy is to promote self-esteem, leadership, and performing experience through skill-building and positive encouragement. We emphasize the education and accomplishment of performing skills at the student’s individual, progressive level without the pressure of competition. We believe that all children are capable and ingenious individuals. Gymnastics is a medium for kids to explore and build on their physical, mental and emotional capabilities. It is a sport that presents challenges in new and exciting formats that is pure fun for kids. The developmental skills gained through gymnastics classes lay the foundation for future use in many other sports. In addition, the personal lessons learned through goal setting, perseverance and self reflection are useful for a lifetime of adventures. All gymnastics classes are held in Centerstage at Leisure Square. DIAPER DAREDEVILS This class is designed as an introduction to the world of gymnastics. This is a fun class for you and your youngster ages walking to 3 years old. The children will explore movement in a maze of colorful equipment with the help of you and a caring staff encourages your child’s natural desire to explore movement. ACROTOTS A class that creates movement in 3 - 5 year olds by utilizing gymnastics apparatus. BEGINNER GYMNASTICS A class for the 6-12 year old gymnast who has had little or no gymnastics training. Beginner Gymnastics will teach the basic skills on floor, bars, beam, trampoline and mini-trampoline. This class meets once a week. Fee per session: City Resident County Resident $45.00 $65.00

Students will work on various aerial disciplines, improve strength and flexibility, develop new skills, and learn combinations sequences tailored to their abilities. This is a time for being with friends in a relaxed non-structured situation where you can spend extra time on skills you particularly like. Have a super fun time at Open Gym. SPRING BREAK MINI CHEER CAMP A fun filled week of learning cheers, chants, jumps, stunts, dances, tumbling, making great friends, and so much more! Prepare a routine for an exhibition at the end of the week. Anyone ages 7 and older are welcome. Bring a bag lunch, a swimsuit and towel everyday. Limited to 50 participants. Our goal is to provide a safe, secure, and fun environment with supervision. Camps offer an opportunity for youth to make new friends and spend their summer participating in recreational and educational programs. There will be 9 weeks of camp (You do not have to attend all 9 weeks). Two camps will be offered: Sports/Aquatics Camp and Aerial Antics Camp. Registration will begin March 1, 2016. Summer camps will run nine (One-week) sessions from June 7, 2016 – August 5, 2016. AERIAL ANTICS CAMP AT LEISURE SQUARE We strongly recommend that students attend 9 weeks in order to gain the full benefits of this camp. This Circus based summer camp is now in its 42nd year. This camp trains boys and girls ages 6 - 12 for a performance at the end of the summer. Instruction areas include gymnastics, tumbling, circus aerial, and dance. Fun-filled camp activities include swimming, movies, arts & crafts, games, and off-site activities such as bowling and skating. End of summer performance will be held August 4, 5, and 6, 2016 Cost per week: City Resident $90.00

JR. STAFF VOLUNTEERS Junior Staff volunteers serve as role models, help mentor campers, and lead basic camp activities. Colleges, work environments, clubs and social groups require effective leadership to succeed. Our Junior Staff program is designed to provide valuable experience for mature teens in all areas of recreation including performing arts, guidance, sports, and safety. The Junior Staff Volunteers will assist Leisure Square Specialty Summer Camp Counselors in one of 2 specialty camps. You must be 13, 14 or 15 years old to participate. This is a great way to train for future camp counselor positions. Includes CPR & First Aid training and a t-shirt. For more information contact Jeff Matthews at (772) 770-6500.
