Thank you Toyota Foundation

18th

Last Monday I was invited to the offices of Toyota in Port Melbourne to order what I thought was going to be a Hi Ace van. I was very pleasantly surprised when I was told that the Toyota Foundation were prepared to dramatically increase the offer to a 12 seater bus.

Footy Day dress up End of Term early dismissal 2.30pm

The bus will be delivered in January, just in time for the new school year. Already, we have considered the many uses. Thanks to Toyota Foundation we will also have our school name and logo printed on the side. Building Renovations begin I met with the builders of our renovation yesterday and demolition begins during the holidays. During the second week of the holidays asbestos is being removed. I direct everyone in the community to keep off the school grounds during this time. There will be many disruptions to normal pathways. The corridor will be a shared space, and the builders will need to use the front door of the school to bring materials in and out. All large deliveries will be scheduled for times when students are not at school or in classrooms. I will keep you updated on the progress during the term. Well-earned rest

Following a very busy term, it is time for our staff and students to have a well-earned rest. As there is no assembly tomorrow afternoon, I would like to remind everyone to stay safe and have a wonderful holiday. School resumes on Monday 5th October.

OH WHAT A NIGHT! There’s a saying that it takes a village to raise a child BUT at Chelsea Primary it takes a wonderful school community to put on a production! What amazing matinee and evening performances they were. The audience tapped their toes, sang along to the songs and a few people were even seen shaking their hips at the back of the hall. Thank you to our fabulous parents for their invaluable support, our talented teachers for their vision and above all our ‘Superstar Students’ for their fabulous energy and entertainment. Can’t wait until next year………………………

FOOTY DAY TOMORROW …… supporting State School’s Relief

Chelsea Primary School will be holding a FOOTY DAY tomorrow to support our Inquiry Unit actions of Social Justice. Students are asked to wear their favourite footy team colours and bring a gold coin donation. All money received will go to support State Schools Relief. As a charity, State Schools Relief relies exclusively on donations from school communities via fundraising. 100% of your donation goes directly to children by providing quality school clothing, footwear, socks and underwear. Throughout the day, students will be involved in a range of fun footy activities and there will be a lucky draw for a footy at assembly. Please support our FOOTY DAY to raise funds for Victorian students in need. HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I wish all our families a fabulous relaxing holiday and look forward to catching up with your news on Monday 5 th October.

Important Note regarding iOS 9.0 - 9.1 Beta and your Skoolbag App Apple is releasing the new version iOS 9.0 on the 16th September and we are pleased to confirm that your Skoolbag App will function fine on this iOS 9.0 update. However for the first time ever, Apple has also released a public Beta version of iOS 9.1 which is due for release in a couple of months time. You should encourage your users to NOT install this version, because many apps do not work on it, including Skoolbag. We will continue to monitor this beta version, but at this time, your users should not install it.
