THE DEFINITION OF A GOOD BYSTANDER By Pippi Hayman

On Tuesday the Senior Room participated in a Web Conference for Safer Internet Day. The Web Conference was about being a good bystander and we tuned into the conference with about twenty thousand other students and teachers to listen to a man called Gary converse about cyber safety for about an hour. He showed things which happened in three different scenarios where somebody was bullied and then another person resolved the problem in creative ways. I didn’t realise that social media was so contagious; if you posted something nasty it would spread like wildfire.

But then again if you forwarded a message with kind intentions the same thing would happen.

CYBERSAFETY BY SHANNON BROOKE Cyber safety was a fun day because we learnt how to be safe on the internet. We watched a Cyber safety show on the internet. I learned to not say bad things on the internet. SAFER INTERNET By Molly Turner On Tuesday we did an online web Conference, it was about being a good by stander. At first there was a lady, who was talking to us, but we couldn’t talk back but there was a little chat box for us to write in. After the lady had finished talking to us this man called Greg popped up on the screen he started to tell us about kids that were on camp. A girl had fallen asleep and her friends took a funny picture of her and sent the photo to other people. We went through activities about how we could fix the problem.

READ LIKE A DEMON THE DAY THE DEMONS CAME By Shaye Brown On Wednesday Tom Mc Donald and Max Gawn from the Melbourne football club came to our school. They came to read with the students at our school. We read The Night Of The Clown, Grandpa’s Feet, Glued and Uluru.

READ LIKE A DEMON By Oscar Gibson-Goldsmith On Wednesday the 11th of February two players from the Melbourne Demons Football Club came to Kongwak to read with all the students. We all took turns to read a book that a Demons supporter wrote and we read some of the picture story books that the kids wrote last year as well. After we read, the two players, Max Gawn and Tom McDonald asked us some questions about the books and then they let us ask them some questions. After we all got some information about the football we measured the players. Tom McDonald was 195cm and Max Gawn was 208cm he’s the 4th tallest player. We were amazed by how tall they were and before they left they let us keep the first book that we read and we got some stickers, had a picture together and said goodbye. I think the best thing that happened was meeting and measuring the players and asking them questions. READ LIKE A DEMON BY LUKE SEXTON ON WEDNESDAY TWO FOOT BALLERS CAME TO OUR SCHOOL. THEIR NAMES WERE TOM MC DONALD WHO WAS 195CMS TALL AND MAX GAWN WAS 208CMS TALL. WE READ A BOOK CALLED NIGHT OF THE CLOWN . THEY HAD A QUIZ ABOUT SOME OF THE BOOKS.
