MAYFLOWER BRIGHTON RESIDENTIAL AGED CARE

PERSON-CENTRED CARE Through our residential aged care services at Mayflower Brighton, we are committed to providing holistic care options that meet the needs of our residents, and their families, in relation to individual clinical, physical, social, spiritual and emotional support. Ultimately, our aim is to promote the independence, lifestyle and social relationships of our residents in a secure and harmonious environment.

Mayflower's focus on person-centred care is also reflected in our qualified nursing staff, who monitor and manage the health and wellbeing of our residents 24 hours a day. In conjunction the personal care staff provide services including assistance with dressing, bathing, meals and other activities of daily living.

At Mayflower we consult with every new resident and their family representative to develop an individually tailored Care Plan that meets the needs and wishes of that resident. This Care Plan is monitored and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that Mayflower responds to any changes in health status or requirements.

Special Care Services DEMENTIA CARE Our specialised care for residents living with dementia is based on industry best practice principles. We endeavour to involve these residents in meaningful everyday activities that provide stimulation and engagement. When required, lifestyle programs are tailored to have a calming and soothing effect. The built environment at Brighton provides safe and secure areas including a courtyard garden.

PALLIATIVE CARE For our residents needing palliative care we focus, through our individualised Care Plans and consultation process, on meeting the wishes of residents and family members. We promote a safe, quiet and peaceful environment which is dignified, respectful and compassionate for our palliative care residents, as well their family and friends.

RESPITE SERVICES Mayflower Brighton provides families/ carers caring for loved ones at home with a safe and secure environment so that they can take a well-earned rest free from the responsibility of day to day care and oversight. We welcome our respite residents and ensure that they are supported for the period that they are entrusted to our care. Approval required by the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS), and there is a minimum stay of four weeks.

Each and every day our lifestyle staff and volunteers continue to provide an active lifestyle program which reflects the needs of residents including culturally and spiritually. This program is earmarked by a range of social and physical activities which are tailored to individuals or groups. Events such as concerts, outings, topical and celebratory functions are a frequent occurrence at Mayflower.

The food experience at Mayflower is a key focus of quality care. Mayflower offers a choice of meal options and the menu supports the individual nutritional needs of our residents. VISITORS Visiting hours are unrestricted at Mayflower Brighton. Even small pets are welcome to visit our residents.

SECURITY The security of residents and staff is an important criterion for Mayflower. At Mayflower Brighton, 24-hour camera surveillance is provided at the main entry points and within the corridors. These recordings can be reviewed if necessary.

ACCOMMODATION Our latest accommodation reflects contemporary aged care design including single rooms with ensuites to enhance privacy and dignity. High quality furniture and fittings which are 'fit for purpose' are found throughout the building. Our older style rooms have had significant refurbishment and provide comfortable and pleasant accommodation. Mayflower Brighton has 150 residential care beds, including a 30 bed secure dementia specific unit in the following three types of accommodation: Private Room with Private Ensuite Standard room with private ensuite, with access to communal lounge and dining rooms. Private Room with Private Ensuite in New Wing Deluxe rooms located in the newly opened wing have the latest modern facilities, sitting areas/lounges, easy access to a rooftop terrace and bowling green. Each room is equipped with over bed tracking systems to assist with mobility.

Private Room with Private Ensuite with Deluxe Private Balcony Premium rooms with private balconies offer a venue for private relaxation, socialisation with visitors and enjoyment of passing activities. Located in our newest wing, these rooms offer all the latest modern facilities and personal care options including over bed tracking and storage. In close proximity to the dining room, sitting areas, rooftop terrace and bowling green, our premium accommodation offers a superior aged care environment to suit all needs.

PAYMENT AND FEES Payment and fees for Mayflower Brighton are calculated in accordance with the Australian Government Aged Care Reforms and include a Basic Daily Fee, any Means Tested Fee and Accommodation Payment. The maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) for each of the Mayflower room types is: ¥¥ Private Room with Private Ensuite
