We have a number of contemporary styled products that are perfect for creating a modern, flexible and design-led alternative to your everyday back garden.

A&G’s Canterra Flag range is subtly different and highly impressive. With gentle ripples and a smooth, highly finished surface, it reflects light and brings extra life to your exterior. Enhanced with granite chippings, it even sparkles when it’s wet, making your outside entertaining space look amazing even in

the rain. This space may look stunning, but it is also highly practical. The closed surface of the flagstones is brushed and finished by our manufacturing team to give them a texture that is much easier to maintain and keep clean - making them the perfect choice for entertaining.

HINT * Although it might not look like it, the choice of grouting sand between the flags is just as important as the choice of flag. Always check with one of the A&G Outside Rooms staff to make sure you are choosing a complementary finish!

There’ll be no need to chase kids away from the TV screen if you create an outside room that they can really explore, enjoy and make their own. Our design team really went to town with this deceptively simple scheme which gives children and adults all the space they need to let off some steam.

Our TerraPave flags in a Verona Ground finish, give the space a warm Mediterranean feel. They have a very smooth finish which in addition to being contemporary, is easy to keep clean. Made from natural aggregate, this is one of the highest quality products we produce and it will only grow more beautiful with every decade that passes.

We have also matched a Regal Stone retaining wall in Cashel to provide some raised bedding areas. This easy-to-build, mortar-free vertical walling system provides additional protection for flowers and plants from little hands and feet.

Everyone knows that fruit and veg taste better when you’ve just picked them. So what’s stopping you? Maybe the grass needs cutting, or the hedge needs trimming, or the weeding needs done in that wet patch at the back where the sun just doesn’t reach. At A&G, we have the knowledge and the products to cut the to-do list and keep things simple.

In our Grow Your Own Garden, we have combined paving and retaining walls to create easy-to-manage raised areas and bedding to minimise the overall workload. The back of the garden has been raised up to maximise sunlight and we have built some rather nifty brick planters using our traditional red facing bricks.

The sweeping Bayfield retaining wall leads towards steps up to the raised area, inviting you to explore the upper part of the garden. Finished off with a matching cap, this wall can easily double up as a seat.

HINT * Our range of mortar-less retaining walls are easily built by DIYers. The secret is to plan where your wall is going using some sand, then dig down and get your first course perfectly level. The rest of the wall will then be simple and quick to build.

This contemporary scheme uses a number of clever choices to make the garden area accessible for everyone. The gently sloped pathway is made from Silver Plaza Paving blocks, finished with a complementary granite grouting sand. It’s textured surface adds to the slip resistance of the finish, which is doubly important for an incline.

The retaining wall system is made from Aspen Stone in Canelletto, a natural stone with a weathered, textured finish. These small, light weight blocks are perfect for a simple, quick DIY project and complete with a matching cap, they really look and feel the part.

The colours shown in this literature are as accurate as the printing process will allow. Whilst every effort is made to match colours and represent textures, we recommend that colours and textures are chosen from actual samples of products. All products are manufactured from natural materials and although we strive to provide consistency of colour, variation may occur in the manufacturing process. It is for this reason we recommend that products are selected from at least three bales within each delivery. This will eliminate ‘banding’. EFFLORESCENCE Efflorescence (white crystals also known as ‘white bloom’) can appear on newly installed walls, paving and flagstones which have a high cement content. It is hard to predict how long efflorescence will last due to varying factors such as climate conditions, location and aspect. In some cases it can take around a year to disappear completely. It is in no way detrimental to the performance of the product. A&G cannot be held responsible for this natural phenomenon.
