1 Introduction Cable & network operators, Service Providers, Content owners and new entrants in the OTT industry are aiming to reach more end-users and expand their ARPU in order to grow or fortify their market`s position. Consequently End-users` demand for new functionalities, content quality, device support are high and rising. But due to fast moving technological developments it is difficult to understand for these contestants how to move forward or to step in. Strategic and investment decisions are no longer technical they are made by a multi-disciplinary DMU and mostly based on numbers. That is where we step in. 3.1 Solution design The overall solution is visualized below and describes 3 elements: Content delivery The existing available video content, related content rights and EPG content. This solution can re-use any format of existing content delivery and optimize this for IPTV/OTT delivery for both Set top boxes as multiscreen delivery. The solution supports both linear channels as well as time shift features & storage and Video on Demand. End user environment In the end-user environment we find CPE (consumer premises equipment), set top boxes (STB) and multiscreen devices . The IPTV / OTT solution offers a great user experience on all devices. These features are described in chapter 4. Managed service Divitel The Technical infrastructure of the platform is built in the Divitel datacenter and is being services and supported by the Divitel operating Center. This is a professional facility with dedicated service- and support engineers that detect, inform and solve 24/7.

4.1 User Interface The solution offers a full screen and full HD user interface. As this is built in HTML5 it can be easily changed into the look & feel of the provider in order to create a great branding tool. We can change logo, color schemes or we can go all the way and incorporate a specific design in the user interface. The look & Feel is adaptive to the device that is included in the TV proposition. That`s how an unified user experience is enabled on all devices.

4.2 Menu, Settings & Profiles Interactive TV should be easy to use for the entire audience, both young and older end users. Therefore this solution offers all features and functionalities in a user intuitive and logical manner. The menu can always be opened using the menu button, the menu will appear in a full screen and full HD presentation, while a Picture-in-Picture will provide live video so the end user won`t miss anything. Furthermore the menu shows actual time and date. The menu structure contains the following features and options:

Settings Pin codes Manage the system pin codes for access security and purchase security. Channel lock Select TV channels that need to be blocked and will not be available in the system. Also hides the selected channels in the EPG. System info Offers on screen information about STB, SW versions and settings. Enable a restart, check information about video streams and widget. Also allows for easier remote customer support. TV and sound settings Get access to system settings such as: Menu language, Subtitle language, Audio language, Info timeout, EPG timescale, TV aspect ratio, Broadcast formatting, Sound output, Interface resolution. Favorites Allows for fully personalizing up to 5 different TV channel lists. Age rating Control the minimal required age level to protect inappropriate content display. Profiles End users demand a personalized multimedia experience. They have multiple devices and user profiles in order to easily optimize this experience. These end users can now use the same user profiles in order to optimize their TV experience. The solutions offers many settings that can be changed by the end user and saved in a profile that remembers these settings. The end user can easily create and change multiple profiles, or choose not use profiles at all. Ideal for parents that can now create a “family” profile that provides a save and optimized experience for the children with just a click on the button. 4.3 Live TV & Radio The Divisio 2.0 managed IPTV /OTT solution is content and network agnostic. Thanks to our independent approach as system integrator we can support various kinds of linear video formats. This allows existing content providers to migrate to a full interactive TV proposition on all devices and move OTT as well. TV / Radio Switch between live TV and radio. TTX

TTX Enable the existing and “good old” teletext functionality. QuickZap / infobar Quick zapping alows the end user to get instant and full control of the TV and channel. Watch current program information, see how long the program will be running and what`s next, schedule a reminder or a recording so you will not miss a thing. Program information For the most demanding end user the solution offers extensive program information. Find the program summary, schedule recordings or reminders, start the program from the beginning or move back to full screen. Electronic Program Guide The EPG offers a full screen and full HD overview while presenting live TV in the PIP (picture in picture). The EPG allows the end user to navigate and search for program information, selecting programs, scheduling reminders and recordings and enable catch up TV playout.

4.4 Digital Video Recording Nonlinear video experience is growing! Recording is popular and thanks to network (cloud) recording end users can record and playout on all devices. Besides network video recording this solution also supports local recording. For local recording the system uses the hard drive of the STB, external hard drives or SD storage. Features and functionalities may differ due to storage location. Instant Recording Allows the currently aired program to be recorded. This recording will started from the moment the recording is activated or from the beginning of the show according to the EPG if the channel has been selected during that time. Recordings are stored in the recording media manager including program information. Scheduled Recording Besides instant recording, the solution offers end users advanced features for scheduling recordings using the EPG or InfoBar. Scheduled recording will be automatically recorded and stored. Series & periodical Recording This features enables the end user to automatically record all episodes of a specific program. This can be executed via series name or airing date. Recordings menu The recordings menu presents the playlist of all programs that have been recorded and that are scheduled to be recorded. The recordings menu offers program information and management options as well.

4.5 Time Shifted TV Besides live TV and recorded content this solution also enables Time shifted TV. Time shifted TV offers end users a great experience because they can now watch their favorite program anytime! Pause-Live This feature enables an instant pause of the live program. End users can play the content from the moment the program has been paused and jump back to live. Start Over TV This is an advanced features that offers end users a more enriched experience. End users can move back to the beginning of a live program with just one remote control movement. Catch-Up TV Enables the end user to go back in time and select a program in the EPG that they want to see and start the program.

4.6 Video on Demand Video on demand is widely available. With this IPTV / OTT solution operators, broadcasters and service providers can include VOD in their proposition as well. There are different technical configurations that can enable VOD depending on the monetization strategy:   

VOD - local content VOD - hybrid OTT delivery VOD - 3rd party delivery (like Netflix, Pathé, Videoland, Maxdome, etc. )

VOD local content This feature enables providers to populate a video store with its own content and present this in the VOD library. The solution enables payment and authentication options for monetization and reporting purposes. VOD - hybrid OTT delivery The hybrid delivery configuration allows the provider to manage the content delivery from an external location. This content is presented in the VOD library. The solution enables payment and authentication options for monetization and reporting purposes. VOD - 3rd party delivery The solution can incorporate existing OTT VOD services and present them in the VOD. For end users a seamless experience, existing subscriptions and accounts can be used in the service. Services like Netflix, Pathé, Videoland, Moviemax, Maxdome can be presented without having to manage the VOD library.

4.7 Multiscreen TV Just like the IPTV platform the Multiscreen platform focusses on an optimal and unified user experience on all different devices. Ensured by:    

a great user interface (UI) a rich set of features support for all devices user intuitive menu

The application enables Android, iOS, Windows or OSX user to enjoy the following features on their smartphone, tablet or web player: Live TV Watch live television via Wifi or anywhere around the country via 3G or 4G. The use of HSL for signal throughput makes it possible to watch TV on every screen. Upscaling of the content will be active when screen and device allow this. If needed, content will be downscaled for an optimal user experience. Channel Swipe To quickly change channel end users can swipe from left to right (channel down) or from right to left (channel up). Infobar When watching live TV or listening to live radio end users can tap the screen once to see the infobar. The infobar gives the following information: current channel, current program and the timeframe of the show. Besides channel information the infobar enables the end user to use the following functions: program info, channel list, TV Guide (EPG) and recording. Channel list A list of all available channels is shown and the end user can switch between the different channels. EPG A quick overview of the available content is shown in the EPG. The EPG allows the end user to brows trough the content and schedule recordings. Small information is available for every program. Via a small PIP (Picture In Picture) the end user will not miss an thing of the current show. Recordings Recordings can be made in EPG. Recordings can be watched in the recordings tab. The recorded shows can be viewed and there is an overviews of the content scheduled to be recorded. The app offers end users an easy way to connect to the customer website of the provider.
