Saturday, April 11, Noon to 2:30 p.m. Have you ever been to a Quarter Mania? If not you’re in for a great time. Doors open at Noon. Lite lunch available for a small fee. Games start at 1 p.m. 1 paddle for $2.00 and 2 paddles for $3.00. You can purchase your paddles in advance by coming to the Senior Center and seeing a volunteer at the Front Desk. Don’t forget to bring quarters with you to play the games or purchase quarters the day of the event. Mania prizes (gift bags, mystery boxes, gift cards) are valued at $10.00 or more. Grandkids and members of the community are welcome to participate.

Fitness Studio News Improve your physique and enhance your overall well-being at our state of the art fitness center. Equipment includes 2 treadmills, 2 recumbent bikes, an elliptical machine, an upper body strength machine and a lower body strength machine. The fitness center also provides free blood pressure screenings to all center members. Professionally trained volunteer monitors are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They will supervise the fitness studio. Please wear proper shoes in the Fitness Room. Personal Trainer available. Fitness membership is only $60 a year or $15 for 13 weeks. Stop in to pick up your application. Individuals must be a current senior center member to participate in the fitness studio. Current Fitness Center Hours - Monday Thru Friday

Monkey Man Variety Show On Friday, April 10 from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Jerry Brown (The Monkey Man) and Django (his monkey pal) return to Arbutus Senior Center. Free event. Children welcome but must be accompanied by an Adult. Bring your camera. Lunch available at Noon. Cost is $2.00. Hot Dog, Macaroni and Cheese, Fruit Cup, Mini Cupcake and Drink. RSVP by April 6 if you plan to attend lunch or the Variety Show. Also, wear your orange and black to celebrate opening day of the Baltimore Orioles. Space is limited for this event so hurry and make your reservation now.

Results Of Fashion Show $325.47 was made at the Spring Fashion Show. Special thanks goes to everyone who attended, bought clothing or accessories and to the following people for modeling: Julie Turner, Rose Waldt, Joan McCann, Katherine Peterson, Teresa Reed and Nassrine Moasser. Raffle Winners Don Blair and Linda Maus won the Jewelry Sets. Live Musical Performances Arbutus Senior Center has been selected to host three live musical performances sponsored by the National Council On Aging (NCOA) National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) and the Music Performance Trust Fund (MPTF). Details about the performances will be in future newsletters.

Living Well6.Take Charge Of Your Health Chronic Disease Self Management Program Workshops Thursday’s, May 7 - June 11, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., free Join a group of seniors like yourself who are discovering ways to take charge of their health. By attending these workshops you will build your confidence, enjoy socializing more with others, find friends that you can support and who will support you, increase your resources and have fun. Sponsored by Arbutus Senior Center and Arbutus Library. Workshops will be held at the Arbutus Library. RSVP by April 23. *Don’t forget to pick up the 2015 Community Resource Guide.
