The Baltimore County Department of Aging requires that all eligible individuals must complete an annual registration/intake form in order to participate in Senior Center activities, classes, programs, and events. New this year, beginning in October - you may be required at times to show your Membership Card upon front desk sign-in, when signing up for a class/special event, or renewing your Fitness Studio Membership. Christmas in July, the Annual Shrimp Feast and Nancy’s Goodies Sale on July 28th proved to be another very successful fundraiser. We raised over $500 which goes directly to the Arbutus Senior Center Council! Thank you to all of you that participated in setting up, breaking down these events and those who purchased items! Remember: The Center Council supports many of the programs we offer at the center, including subsidized classes, special entertainment and luncheons, Bingo prizes, and more! Lunch is served daily at Noon, menus for the month of September are located in the Reservation book in the hallway. You must sign up 2 days in advance for a meal unless otherwise specified. If you need to cancel your meal, please call as soon as possible (24 hours in advance preferably) to cancel.

Take advantage of the personal training packages ranging in price from $25 - $130, or work out at your convenience after completing application & mandatory Equipment Orientation.

Hours: Monday — Friday

Cost: $15 for 3 months $30 for 6 months $60 for full year

Applications are located at the 8:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. Front Desk. Applications must be completed and signed by Physician, then participant must complete a mandatory Equipment Orientation with a Personal Trainer. Equipment Orientations are held on the 1st & 3rd Friday of each month at 10:00 A.M. Note that Fitness Studio hours are subject to change at times. The Fitness Studio will remain open as long as there is a Volunteer Monitor present, and must close if there is not.

Get Fit! 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk Sunday, September 18, at 8 a.m. - CCBC Essex Campus 7201 Rossville Boulevard, Baltimore, Maryland 21237 Celebrate senior health and fitness by participating in the 10th Annual 2016 Get Ready! Get Set! Get Fit! 5K Run-Walk and 1 Mile Walk for all ages to be held on the campus of CCBC Essex on Sunday, September 18, 2016. The event, which is perfect for novice runners and families, starts at 8 a.m. and all roads on campus will be closed at that time. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. with health and fitness screenings and free massages starting at 7:30 a.m. Trophies are given for the fastest three male and female 5K finishers overall, while medals are awarded to the top three male and female runners in all age categories. New for 2016: a 1 Mile Kids Fun Race has been added for those youngsters who want to run, but can’t do the 5K distance. Door prizes, including a $500 Fitness Pays Grand Prize sponsored by Van Dyke and Bacon Shoes, will be awarded (must be present to win). When this or closing for any other reason occurs, media announcements regarding closures or late openings will ONLY be made on WBAL Radio, 1090 AM; WBAL-TV 11 and WJZ-TV 13. Information on closings and/or late openings will also be published on the Baltimore County web site, www.baltimorecountymd.gov. Senior Centers will open at 10:30 a.m. when a 2-hour delay is reported.
